White Rose

What does the white rose signify to you? Love? Death? Depression? Happiness? Ugliness? Beauty?...
I want you to write a story with a white rose in it. Simple enough, right?

Rules:

1. 100 to 1000 words
2. no erotica
3. no bashing God/other poets/diet coke

Be creative! I want to read original, interesting stories. I want to gasp at the end and either be begging for more or feel complete closure.
