Is it just me, or has there been a serious shortage of contests on Storywrite lately?
So, in order to solve this problem, I'm opening a contest. Ta-da! And for this contest, what I want you to do is simple.
Give me your best.
That's it - I want the story that you're the proudest of. Prewrites are allowed, obviously. I would prefer new writes, but by now I've pretty much accepted that it's almost impossible to get a contest entirely full of new writes.
There are a few rules, for this contest:
Rules:
1. No adult material whatsoever. I can't view it, so you're just wasting your time by entering.
2. Please don't go over 3000 words - I have a lot of homework this year.
3. One entry per person.
4. All genres (excluding adult) will be accepted, though bear in mind that my preferences are romance, vampires, high school drama, angels, faeries and shape shifters.
5. If you're submitting a chapter from a novel, please only submit a prologue or chapter one.
6. You cannot enter anything that I've commented on before - doing so will result in automatic DQ.
7. Good grammar and spelling is an absolute must.
8. No poetry - I only want stories.
9. I reserve the right to DQ any entry that doesn't comply with these guidelines (and trust me, I'll do it
)
Got it? So go ahead and impress me with your writing skills. I'm waiting
All entries will be commented on, by the way.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on September 27
- Rewards: Gold: 200, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50
- Final notes: I decided to end the contest early, for the simple reason that reading all the amazing stories was making me depressed about my own lack of talent! No, I'm just kidding! I ended it early because I felt I already had the winners picked out, and besides that, I have too much homework to judge it fairly from this point on. So thank you everyone who entered, and let me assure you that all of the entries were absolutely fantastic. I really wish I could've given everyone a trophy, but if I had, it wouldn't have been a contest, would it? Thanks again! ~ Leah

You ask for our best but you don't allow poetry. What if my best is a poetic piece?
*sighs* Anyways, good luck with the contest.
-
You ask for the best but prefer new writes? Not sure that makes any sense. Best stories become honed with editing over time, hopefully with comments by helpful readers.
-
I enter these things and I never win and get bad reviews. It makes me wanna cry sometimes. Oh well, I hope you get a lot of good entries!
-
don't forget
to read chapter 1 even though its not submitted!
