Six Women, Six Options...
Okay, not exactly "six" women, but this contest presents you six options, five of which has 3 sub options each. ^_^
Before you proceed, take caution:
In writing and posting our own stories, we, the judges, do not aim for perfection -we aim for excellence (perfection is unattainable, after all), as should you, the contest participant. Why must one settle for something less than what you want, something less than what you can get? So go ahead, push yourself, and aim for the
.
With this, we now present the six writing prompts for this contest:
1. Erotica
A. Give me something hard - write me something sensual, something provocative... and have it only revealed at the near end that the two involved are 2 inanimate objects.
B. Sweet sweet fantasy - words are the key... have it stimulated by a word, and carried on in a dream, a daydream.. have us, the judges, believing it is real...and then drop the bomb on us - it was a dream
C. Don't speak - write us an erotica.. and do not mention body parts. Be creative.
2. Teen
A. Prom, parties, what not - show us exactly how teens had fun and celebrated, when the grown ups are not around ^_^
B. First kiss - icky, sticky, delicious, delightful, scary, scandalous, wet, what??? Which was it? Tell us!!! Make it realistic. Get the "young once" to reminisce their own first kisses, get the "young ones" see what a first kiss could be like. ^_^
C. GLBT - this is he time for self-discovery, self-exploration... so give us stories revolving around gay, lesbian, bisexual or trans-gendered youths' actions, reactions, realizations.
3. Romance
A. Internet romance - must start there and stay there. No meeting in person. Phone calls are fine.
B. A through the years romance - Must span say…25 years, obviously you don’t have to fill in all that time but somehow show it passed.
C. Flip-flop romance - Start off with hate and end with love or start with love and end in hate.
4. Dark
A. Depression - take me to the darkest corners of the human mind...don't tell me your character is depressed show me.
B. Suicide - make this original...I don't want 7 billion stories about overdosing or slashing wrists... if you do this I'll end up playing in traffic.
C. Self Injury - I want to FEEL why the character is self injuring...again don't tell me show it!
5. Poetic Stories
I’m not talking poetry here. I don’t want any poems. What I want is a story using poetic language – check this out to see an example of what we’re talking about. Now, the sub-options:
A. Write me a journey. Take me with you. Let me feel the weather, see the sights, taste the air with you.
B. Describe that person. You know, that person. The special one. Describe them to me.
C. There’s a moment that can change lives. Write about it. This could be an explosion, a fall, that feeling of flying through the air, or the darkness of a bullet pushing through bone.
Important : feelings are what I’m talking about here. Enlist my senses, pull me in. Make me feel what you feel. Empathy is the most important thing.
6. Gay Fairy Tales
Creativity, realism, reel us in, give us something that could rival everyone's favorite fairy tales. Write your own or rewrite a classic!
Rules:
1. Word count: 1500 words - 5000 words only. Exceeding or coming short by 40 words is okay. Anything more than or less than what we demand would get removed. Note: For option five the word minimum is only 400.
2. Please do not type Lyk diz or LiKe ThIs... it will make the judges' heads hurt and there might be a collective brain explosion and the contest shall never be judged. Proper grammar, punctuation, use of spell check are required as to make reading AND commenting easier =)
3. The judges are not mind readers. Kindly specify what Option and suboption you chose. Put it in your Author's Notes.
4. We, as contest holders, reserve the right to increase points. We can also extend or end it when we
deem it necessary.
5. Enjoy =) Do us proud!

sounds fun! just wondering if you could expand on "gay fairy tales" a little more.
-
-
Lol, I can try. It's just as it says really...write a gay fairy tale. Gay in the sexual preference sense, not happy.
I umm...not much else I can expand on. Sorry!
-
Hye Leaf Green
you may do what you want as long as present us a gay fairy tale
if you want to tweak an existing fairy tale, go ahead
if you want to create your own, be our guest
-
-
Ohh I am gonna make something for this real soon
-
Can we have more than one entry? I've have a few ideas for different topics.
-
Just seems an odd request. I've always been mad at Disney for presenting only hetero movies for kids, like it's the only thing that they can be. Grr. Now I'm definately submitting a gay fairy tale.
Well, thanks! -
Yay...!
-
Will do!
I'm gonna enter. Seems like so much fun!!! -
-
Yay, go George! Looking forward to it!
-
-
Hey, I'm a little confused:
It says on the site that my word count is 1548. Yet, when I copy and paste to MS Word, my count is 1779. Any idea why that might be? -
-
Storywrites likes to screw with peoples word count. Sometimes it adds sometimes it subtracts. I'm not really sure why though.
-
-
OMG...With all these entries I doubt I stand a chance, but I'm itching to enter your contest!!!
I will certainly try, but if not, I wish you the best of luck!
-
damn
i guess i should have read up on the contests before i added my story, i think it would have worked. oh well, maybe next time.
-
It's been such a long time since this contest started! Can't wait to see the results though; good luck everyone!
-
This contest has been going on for two months! I don't mind waiting, but I'm wondering-- what the heck are you guys waiting for?
-
-
A few of the judges are away. I'm waiting for them to come back so it can be judged soon after they return.
-
-
Umm... is this contest ever going to be judged...?
-
-
I'm sorry. I've been trying to get all the judges on at once and have time to judge. It's not the easiest.
I think I might just judge it myself today/tonight.
-
-
That's fine, just didn't want it to be forgotten! And now it's judged, so great job everyone!
-
-
-
Neverending contest
agree with the last commenter- are you guys ever going to bother judging this or did you not realize it hadn't actually been judged yet? -
-
I'm trying.
-
-
Thanks for the silver trophy! Good job, and congratulations to all on a job well done
