Med-Evil

This is my boyfriend Paul. He likes Medieval themed stories. I like fantasy things, full of dragons and wizards and the like.

In this contest, I want you to combine the two! Write a story, any length, set in the Medieval period, that includes at least 1 of the following:

1. an evil wizard
2. a unicorn
3. a dragon
4. a corrupt and evil King
5. a brave knight
6. a mythical creature that you invent yourslef
7. an epic battle
8. a mythical weapon which has a magical power
9. a powerful spell that goes wrong
10. a poor peasant becoming a hero

Any style of writing is fine, ie first person, third person etc. Length is up to you as well, as long as it isn't LOTR type length!

The more exciting the story, the bigger the chance of winning!

Good luck, and I look forward to reading all the entries!

Thanks to all the entrants for making my first SW contest a success! All the stories were wonderful, well written and very entertaining.

I picked my winners simply because they all had something about them which really stood out to me, whether it was a character, a location, an object, but ALL the entries were fabulous!

Thank you all once again, and a big CONGRATULATIONS to the winners!

I have an epic battle story...but it's like 30-some pages on word, and almost 17,000 words, so I was wondering if that was too long. It needs some polishing, but I just thought I'd check to see if it was too long first.

This is a totally awesome contest! I love the idea. My best friend loves both these kinds of things, and I do too. I'm going to write something like this! (it might not be done in time for the contest, but oh well!)

i had an idea for a sci-fi story, where it turns out technology has DECREASED, contrary to what our textbooks say...
would you want something like that or no?
