Ok, I couldn't decide between the two G's so I'm running two contests.
When I was little my best friend freaked the heck out of me by telling me a ghost story about how a hole opened in her grandmother's wall and spread like blood and then the devil came through in a ghostly manner. It felt so real when she was telling it that I had a sinking sensation for some time afterwards everytime I went to bed.
I've known people who have seen ghosts. One friend had kept a plant and told the ghost who was bothering them a lot that it was theirs to take care of. My friend never watered or touched the plant and yet it thrived. Another friend nearly saw her grandmother killed as it appeared she was being pushed down a staircase. A toy store in northern California had toys flying off the shelves and a restaurant in which the waitresses often felt cold, or as if they'd been hit.
There's so many stories about ghosts, I could go on, but I think you get the point. I want your ghost stories. I'd like them to be realistic or told in an urban legend fashion, make them believable in some fashion. However, they can be completely fantasy, but I will be giving preference to those that manage to make me feel the ghost's presence and that's best done through a realistic story.
I want ones that will give me that sinking feeling again, not necessarily scare the pants off me, but creep me out in how possible it is for your ghost to be real.
- No ghastly, grotesque, or gauntly gore. I don't like it. I will stop reading and you will not win. So in other words, no Horror! There are other types of ghost stories other than the kind that kill.
- Erotic ghosts? Sure why not, but label appropriately.
- Please write a full story; beginning, middle, and end (if you really must put a chapter it better stand alone or be the first chapter).
- Use your brain and proper grammar.
- As I'm running two contests let's keep it less than 5000 words for each entry.
- Also expect these contests to last a little long, as I read slow.
- Points may increase if I get enough entries.
