Big points giveaway - closed for judging

I haven't held a contest in rather a long time and decided it was time to give away lots of points

There are several options to choose from but the general theme of this contest is real life, hard hitting, gritty stories. I'm looking for stories that aren't glamourised, ones that really make an impact, that sound so real like you really are/know this character well.

Firstly lets get the rules out of the way:

* No text talk/sTicKy CaPs *
* 500-5000 words *
* No prewrites *
* No reserving a space only enter once you have a completed story to copy & paste in or your creative juices are flowing! *
* Swearing/adult topics/sexual content etc are all ok if relevant *

That is your 10 topics to choose from. Pick one and really get your teeth into it. Write something real and believeable. Write me the best hard hitting, gritty story that really packs a punch and leaves a lasting impression.

  • Final notes:
    Firstly thank you all for entering. I didn't want to have loads of entries to read despite the large amount of points on offer, which is why it was limited to 15. I got 14 out of 15 entries and 7 of them stood out as being really well written so I had to add in 4 honorary mentions! Out of the 7 finalists it was the hardest contest I've held yet to judge what positions each would get but I'm happy with the final order. I would urge you all to read Caging the Butterfly, Taking Rayne and The Pill - they are all excellent. The HM's are all extremely well written as well. I have commented on every entry.

    Can it be a fictional short story based around one of the topics? Or are you wanting more article-type entries with facts and all that?

      Hey, yeah it can be fictional or done in a sort of biography style anything is fine so long as its a story. I'm looking for inspirational, heartbreaking, educational, absolutely any way you want I just want to feel a reaction to it whether it's anger, sadness, smiles, just make me feel something I hope you will enter!

    I like it. I'll enter if I find the time, I'm pretty sure any of my 1st person narratives fit under these categories. Maybe I'll do a short piece on my pansexual adopted stripper-turned-hitman.
