For the Poetic Soul

For the Poetic Soul

A contest for poetry ....

there is something within poetry,
within layers of imagery
beneath lettered verbs,
and intricate feelings,

between sheathing love
and exposing abhor,

there is a soul,
waiting to be opened
like the page of a book

leaf by leaf

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on October 29
  • Rewards: Gold: 200, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
I have been very inactive on Storywrite, the past month(s) and sincerely apologize for the delay in judging two of my contests. They've remained unjudged for more than a month now ... and that's really irresponsible on my part, so everyone, I'm so sorry for not doing this on time. The reasons for my absence were personal.

As for this contest, I thank all of your for participating. I got a whole HOST of 56 entries. I wittled it down to 17 preliminary finalists, then came onto the lucky 8 who impressed me the most.

The winners were chosen for creativity, flow, structure and subject matter. Plus, about how their language complemented their style and emotional inspiration.

I got some really, really spectacular entries.

So, once again, I really apologize. This is the first time this has happened .... and well, I hope I'll be more careful next time.

Thank you! And congrats to the winners!

  • Oh Mr. A - you are hard nutter to crack.
No Love... do you mean as in romantic love.
Because what if it is a passionate love for something?
    Does it count...
Will do my best MR. A

Darn no death. No gore. All goodness. Lol I guess I could try to write one of those

  • Yeah,

although you told us not to reply to comments, I'd forget by the time you replied. Since I always reply to comments, it's hard to remember not to.

If you waited to comment until after contest, that would probably work.

My entry is about love.... but not the gushy, kissy-kissy kind, though! More the understanding of the love of friendship, and all that. Slightly cliched, but not completely. Could I enter?
