Good Morning Storywrite! My last contest was a huge success, and I made beaucoup des amis and found plenty of novels which captured my interest and novel editing. However, I'm a gluttonous person, so I want moooooooooore!
In all seriousness though, let's a play a game (fun contradiction, ne?). I want you to give me some novel openers. They can be whatever genre you want, but my natural inclination is fantasy, sci-fi and just a general surreality. Oh, and if, on the off chance, you've played one of my previous two games, then feel free to give me the next chapter in your novel, as giving me chapter one and/or prologue again would be a tad redundant...
Now, the rules and considerations:
-Txt speek and rAnDoM cApS make me sad, and when I get sad people get disqualified.
-I'm a bit of a grammar obsessee. I'll be lenient, particularly about quotes and other hard stuff, but chances are if you're confusing your question marks with periods, I'm not gonna be too into it.
-First chapters should be snappy, so try and keep it under 2500 words. I have the attention span of a gold fish, so you'll probably start losing me after that.
Considerations:
-I've always been a fan of character, dialog and coherence
-I like realism with fantastical spice (not entirely sure what I mean by that, just try to feel the vibes, man [or woman])
-Whatever genre, but, again, I'm inclined toward magic and other escapist generalities
-I look at the first sentence with a magnifying glass, and will be scoring it using a rubric (of my own twisted design), so polish that baby up
-I like seeing a hint of plot within the first 1000 words
Okay, that's all, obviously those considerations aren't rules, persay, just insight into my demented psyche if you're playing to win. So have fun my peeps! ASTOUND ME! AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA!

Have you ever wondered what's it like to have a power? As in, those cool sorts of powers that you see in movies and read about in comic books? Like x-ray vision or super strength?11by blackwhite 400 words, 6 comments, on Jul 21 2:45 PM• Commented on by judge. Prewrite

I see you like your contests Mirror. Well you've read what I've got so I won't enter but tell me if you get any really good ones. I'm lacking in the novel reading department myself right now.

I had such an issue deciding which story I wanted to submit. My prologue to a new one I am almost positive I will never even begin writing. Or a chapter two that just plan sucks. I choose the one that sucks

Hi!
Thanks so very much for the bronze trophy and points. I appreciate them. I'm glad you like my chapter. Perhaps you'll have a chance to read further.
Thanks for hosting.
