Option 1:
Write a horror piece that takes place before the year 1900.
Option 2:
Write a horror piece about a subject that is taboo! Bonus points for making this as disturbing as you can possibly muster!
Examples of taboo subjects:
- Religion (You know, like the exorcist did back in the day)
- Incest and pedophilia (preferably with relating murders)
- War crimes (in a horror context, of course)
- Snuff
Ah, I suck at thinking of taboo subjects today, so you can definately use your own subjects, mine are just examples.
Option 3:
Extremely gory horror!
(And I do mean extremely gory!)
Option 4:
On a lighter note, write me a story about someone who is a member of a interplanetarian community that arranges surprise-parties around the galaxy.
Option 5:
Write me a horror story that is centered around time-travel.
Option 6:
Write horror/comedy
(For reference, these movies are great examples of horror/comedy, and you can feel free to write something inspired by these movies:
Severance, Shaun of the dead, Hatchet, Lesbian Vampire Killers, The Cottage, Planet Terror, Fido, Bubba Ho-Tep, Army Of Darkness, Evil Dead 2)
Option 7:
Disturbing! Bring me something disturbing, preferably horror.
Option 8:
Write a horror-story about zombies!
This is often done, but seldom done well. Change that ;D

Okay is it okay to enter my story - if I plan on turning it into a novella later- it is a stand alone story? Or is is possible to enter a part of a series Like the first part... Look you know me, and you know how I love this genre so if I can get you something before then I will most def do it - I just have a writing assigment for my course thats going to take a long time to finish and I really want to enter. So Is it okay to enter one now and replace it when i write a fresh one or something -just let me know. This is the kinda contest I am looking for -dream of- hunger for...

Any stand alone story is allowed into the contest, and so is a part of a series, as long as it makes some kind of sense without having read the whole thing =D
And of course you can enter one now, then enter a new one later, it's up to you Blair =)

Well, maybe if you twist it a bit ;D
Eating people isn't very normal, and I'm sure many kinds of cannibalism can be considered taboo... like sexual cannibalism and eating of children and so forth =P
However, such a story can easily fit under extreme gore, horror/comedy and even the disturbing option, if it's all done right... Guess it depends on whether or not it's a work in progress or something you've already finished ;D -
