Nice contest indeed, and many good options that might be able to break my writers block

  • YES! I broke my WRITER'S BLOCK! Thank you SO much! I think mine is VERY good! I used Science fiction, bullet 3 it it was too confusing in the AN.

  • Hi Asfand!

If I find time to write, I may try to enter this contest.

    I noticed a small typo:

[If you wish to now more about the Oscars,]

    Much success with the contest.

  • aw man. I only do prewrites because I can not write short stories and so whats the use of me starting another novel when I already have one going. But great contest. Gook luck.

  • I'll have a think about this. I want to join, but I'm not sure if I have time to write a new story...

  • Umm id like to join but im going on a cruise to europe... Would it be possible for me to post it when i get back

Am I allowed to choose an option and write a humorous story?

  • Man, these low word limits kill me...I'll try to come up with something anyway.

    • Sorry, though I like long stories most of the judges won't!

      • I'm thinking this is a symptom of the times... watch a TV sitcom and every problem is solved in half an hour, that sort of thing. A short story could be anywhere from ten to a hundred pages, but time and again on StoryWrite I see younger members cutting off their attention spans at such low limits.

Of course, there are a lot of judges and if they're all really, really busy, then everything I've just said is irrelevant. I like a couple of the options here anyway, so like I said I'll see if I can put the fat guy in a little coat.

        • I'm partially to blame too! I've gotten a liking to write 4000+ word stories lately. I might have made up plots that require such a length to fully justify themselves too!

can romance be in it no matter which one you pick?

and if I do a story about a seraphim can it have a vampire in it as well? I have a story like that but I have another story about them on its way. And its that otehr one I'm think about

    • Yes. You can incorporate mutliple themes as long as the MAIN THEME is the one you picked. Meaning - it's a fantasy STORY but with mutliple layers of horror/romance etc. That is certainly allowed and even appreciated!

If you write about a seraphim you add any other characters you want as long as the SERAPHIM is CENTRAL to the plot!
