I just entered my story, and it's 83 words over the word limit. I didn't notice untill after I entered, is that ok?

I was wondering the same thing. I just entered my story and its 200 words over.
Someone else entered a story for this contest too and their story is 2,600 words long...reallly over the limit.
Thank you RayneFall for not making us add anything to our ANs.

Ahh yes,
Anything within the range of 500 words over is fine with me. I said "No Exceptions", but I'm not really that mean. You see, there are things in this world that can be forgiven.
Now, I don't think I will allow the one that is 2,600 words to enter, but your stories are fine. Thank you for asking me ahead of time, of course. It helped you greatly.
And putting things in your author's notes... I know the feeling. It can get rather annoying, can't it. Besides, my teacher taught me not to put Author's Notes requirements.
As your contest judge, I allow your entries. Thank you for entering. The only reason I had a word limit is my slow reading ability. I am a great reader, I just read slower than the average.
Good luck, both of you, and thank you for asking permission.

Thank you for replying so fast! I understand how you feel about disqualifying someone's work, but if everyone would follow the rules there would not be such a need for it.
Also, good luck with your contest.

Oh, I apologize. Your entry was actually 1,083 words over the limit. I'm sorry, but I cannot let you enter this contest... Perhaps, if you have a smaller piece. You may enter that one. I'm terribly sorry...
Really, I am. But... 1,083 words is quite a lot more than 500. Trust me, I'm not too tough. Perhaps a shorter entry will suffice.
Judging by your picture, your entry is the longest one. That is how I knew. Your description is alluring. I shall have to read your piece later.
Do not worry. I will be making a contest for larger works later on (when I have more time to read). I'm sorry for this inconvenience.

The one that says:
Oh, I apologize. Your entry was actually 1,083 words over the limit.
Was a reply to silent dances.
