We all write stories here on Storywrite, and sometimes some people (who aren't as nice as most of the people) decide to give really mean comments. How Do You Handle Those Bad Comments?
Sometimes it's best to ignore them. Because most likely you'll start out with a pretty decent letter back to them, and then about five or six lines down..the anger comes. And then so does the "Hey Buddy! You Listen Here!" line.
My process is this- The first bad comment you receive..ignore it.
The second one- Write back, making sure not to say anything mean or disdainful. Something you might regret. Write back and tell them that you're not very happy about their comment. And could they please be less mean about what they meant.
Being nice back is key. Sometimes people don't mean to write bad comments..they just write them and don't realize they might be mean. Some people will say "And If I'm being mean..please forgive me."
In which case a "That's okay I understand" letter is to be sent.
If you receive a THIRD bad comment- Take it to a Moderator. Be sure you know where all the letters are sent by that person. Along with their name.
A Moderator can help you out with this problem. He can either tell the person writing you bad letters/comments to not be so harsh. Or he will simply tell you to ignore the letters/comments. It depends on the Moderator.
The point is..you don't want to start a fight. You want to handle the situation as easily as possible, without causing any friction between you and the person.

The Definition Of "Bad" comment.
Nobody wants to get bad comments, reviews or just mean things said to them. Like mentioned before, not everyone who writes a comment realizes that they're being mean. They might not be intending to sound that way.
Some people however, don't care how they sound. All they know is that maybe if they're mean enough they might just get you to give up. Don't give up.
Let's face it, there are some mean people out there in the world. And you can't always run away from them. But you can handle the situation "Better" than them.
You don't want to start a fight, you just want to end the bad criticism. As menntioned before..don't say anything mean or angry in your reply letter. Being mean back only substitues more towards both of you.
If you ever become a big time publisher, or even a small time publisher. There are still going to be people out there who are, what I like to call, BRUTALLY HONEST. And they can be brutal.
Whenever in trouble, you can always turn to a Moderator. That's what they're there for. To help you with any problems you might face here on Storywrite.
Especially if the "Commentee" is breaking the storywrite rules. I.E telling you that you're not suited for Storywrite. Or the way you write isn't really appreciated here on storywrite. None of those things are true. Storywrite is open to all forms of writing, that's what's so great about it.
You can always ask a Greeter, Moderator or Friend for help.
If you have any other questions, you can always ask me. I'll be happy to answer. Your friends here on storywrite will help you as well.

wonderful. I think your advice is very good, and really, how we should handle not only bad comments on storywrite, but really, in life too (megumI: here comes the life talk...)-because we need to treat others with love, yet speaking the truth-in this case, against a rude comment. I need to re-evaluate myself now about how to respond to these....great job! luff, pegleg
