Column: Background edits + Freezing bug fixed for IE users by Kevin at Story write

Some internet explorer users were having their web browser 'freeze' when they visited storywrite. I've worked around the bug in Internet Explorer, and all should be able to visit again now.

Sorry for the issues, there have been a lot of changes while getting ready for allpoetry
