Writers block? Here's how to fix it.

If you have writers block, and it drives you mad, then read on. This whole column talks about how to get over the dreaded writers block.
It's also for people who have cures. If you have a good cure, feel free to add it in a comment or IM it to me, I will add it to this, with credits to you obviously.

Okay, let's get started...

Causes-

1) Unrealistic Goals
If you've decided that you're going to write from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every single day - no matter what - then you're probably pushing yourself too hard.

2) Stress
We all know how stress can affect your mood. But stress can also affect your writing.

3) Neglecting Our Writing
Sometimes Writer's Block comes from not writing! Writing every day is essential to keeping those creative juices flowing. No matter how hard it may be.

4) Perfectionism
The perfect paragraph, word after word, is a carefully constructed piece of art. But hanging yourself up on creating that perfect paragraph will win you an all-expense paid trip to Writer's Block Island.

5) Research Related
A lot of writers don't realize how research can even be a hang-up. Maybe you can't finish your crime novel because you don't know how police would handle a certain situation in reality.

Other things may cause it, but those are the main perpetrators.

Okay, now for the all-important cures.

1) Revisit
Re-read some of your previous works. Read them over and over, it may help spark something.

2) Change of Scenery
Do you just write horror over and over? Go for a romance. A change of pace could be just what the doctor ordered.

3) Rewrite Another's Work
Check out a newspaper or magazine article. Now rewrite that story from a new angle. Maybe a young girl was kidnapped. Police are still looking for the suspect and the little girl.

4) Prompts
Ask someone for a prompt, it may be a picture or text. But, more often than not, they spark something.

5) Life Events
Think of something that happened to you and use it. Write about that moment.

These are the things that are proven to work best, so try some out

Some of these I got from websites, others I got from my own inspiration, but either way, I hope that this helped all those suffering. I've made sure all of them are fact, so you can rely on them, I hope with all my heart I've helped.
