Do you know SW?

What is the shameless section? What are the fun forums about? What about classes?

For those of us who have been around Storywrite for quite some time,we know what the shameless section truly is; we know about the fun forums; and we know that there are classes to help us further master our writing skills.

Or do we?

Well, for Storywrite members old and new, here in detail are what those three things are all about.

Shameless Section

On the home page, below new contests, is a little something called “Shameless Stories.” What you are trying to do here is sell your soul to the readers of Storywrite (whom are also the writers, oddly enough). Attempt to write a review that will leave the reader dying to know what the entire story is about; please try to make it interesting, with correct grammar and everything, or else be skipped by those prowling readers who usually want “the best of the best.”

Another thing about the shameless section is that it can be added to all pages simply by changing your author settings. Once there, scroll down to “Layout & filter options,” click the checkbox beside “Show shameless box in sidebar,” and then click “Edit Account.” Presto! It should now be on every page.

Fun Forums

On the top of every page, fifth tab over is a sanctuary that I like to call Forums. Yes, I am aware that it’s called that by everyone, but still: it’s a sanctuary. When you want someplace to hang out, get involved in some intellectual (and not so intellectual) topics, Forums is the place to go. There’s a forum for everyone:

About Writing: For those who are trying to learn how to write.
Social: For those who want to hang out and get to know fellow writers.
Publishing: For those who know how to write and want to make money off their writing.
Suggestions, Errors, Policies: For those who believe Storywrite can be further improved.
Adult Board ‘The Pub’: For Adults.

New Classes

On the tab beside Forums is a tab that says merely “Learn.” By clicking on it, one is brought to the Storywrite Academy. You’re wondering: “What’s that?” Well, that’s where Storywrite offers classes. Now you’re wondering: “What classes? How much do they cost?”

Well, here is something I copied and pasted from the Academy which, I feel, will be most helpful towards answering such questions:

What are classes?
•Learn at your own pace: study instructions, submit homework.
•Free, and earn points for each homework.
•Complete a class and get a class trophy on your profile. Complete all classes and get a certificate in the mail.
•Each is run by a volunteer from our teachers group.
•Get support while exploring established story-writing devices to empower your stories while you develop your individual style.

Other than that, I hope this column has helped you. If not, please ask me for further guidance.

Happy trails to you, my wonderful writers!
