Okay, so yesterday I was sitting in a doctors office waiting to be called in for my appointment and trying to write on one of my stories. I found that I couldn't write anything. My mind was a blur and it felt like my creative muse had abandoned me. Setting my pen and notebook down, I roamed the waiting room and looked through the magazines and brochures, allowing my mind to cool off. Obviously, I was so stressed over how the appointment would go that I couldn't write. Here are a few tips that I picked up on defeating writers block, even if you're stressed out.
1) If you're feeling tense and can't relax while trying to write, stop. Set your pen down (or computer, in some casess) and go for a walk.
2) Another good thing to do if you are tense or stressed is to go and take a warm, relaxing bath.
3) If you find that your muse has left you, don't force your ideas. Take a few minutes to draw, read or look at things that inspire you. Who knows, you may just need the break.
4) If you find that you're having trouble being creative, try and walk a mile in your characters shoes. Sometimes it helps to see things through the characters viewpoint.
When all else fails, stop and listen to music for awhile. Sometimes writers block happens because we're spending too much time writing and not enough time doing something else.
That's about all the advice I have for you for now. Hope you all enjoyed and I hope this helps.

Have you ever had those days where no matter what you do, you can't get your muse flowing? Here's what I've found works best for me. Maybe it will work for you, too.
