Story Write--The Basics-

Question #1: What the **insert certain word** is Story Write?

Answer: If you are new to Story Write, and joined it just because your friend told you to, you might want to consider a few things:

-Do you have any writing talent?
-Do people cringe or gag when you read poetry or declare you wrote a novel?
-Does you writing usually find its way to the dust bin?
-DO YOU ENJOY WRITING?

If you answered know to any of these questions than you might want to quit and look for a different hobby, where other people won't get hurt by you, and you won't get hurt by other people.

Question #2: I wrote a great story, but I can't blackmail...uhh...I mean, persuade enough people into reading what I wrote. How do I do that?

Answer: You can send an email to people who you have seen, or look at people on the Chatter Box, then send a message to them about your story. There also many features to help promote your stories. Like in the side bar, you can find a link called Shamelessly Promoted stories. If you click on it, you can find another link in the sidebar that will allow you to promote your stories. You can also find a place where there is a showing of "featured stories". If you click on link below that called: Get more reads, then it allows you get a guaranteed amount of clicks, but when...it does not say. The time factor usually depends how many points you have.

Story Write--Rewards-

Question #3: I've heard of getting rewards for good writing in story write. How do I earn the rewards?

Answer: You can get trophies by entering contests. Each contest will have its own rules, and stuff that you have to follow. With each trophy, you get a certain amount of points. However, if you get an honorable mention, you don't get much of anything, besides a trophy, and five points.

You can also earn points by commentating on stories. The comments have to be a 100 words or more, and they cannot be spam.

The person who comments the most, as shown above, gets Gold Membership for a limited amount of time.

With each comment you get, you get satisfaction that people are reading your stories.

--Well...that's pretty much it. If you need anymore feel free to contact me. Hope this helps.

"You can send an email to people who you have seen, or look at people on the Chatter Box, then send a message to them about your story." - - It is against site policy to solicit for reads... so this would mean IMing people to read would be against policy. You can, however, ask people to trade reads in the CB (as long as you're not spamming it to everyone), and once the agreement is made, the rest goes to IMs to trade titles or links

One little addition... there are a lot of people who just come to Storywrite to read. They don't write. They are a wonderful part of the SW community, and an integral part of the writing process. Grant it, this is not myspace/facebook/bebo/etc, but advising them to rethink a membership just because they don't write would be vastly unfair to the site as a whole.

Also, "Do you have any writing talent?" since SW is sort of a learning and creating site, it's ideal for those just beginning, that may not have any talent, but want to learn how.

    A few other things:

The featured are only guarantees views on your stories, not comments. Another excellent way to get comments/view is to read and comment on other author's works. Most times, they will read in return.
Joining a critiquing or reading group is also another good way to both get reads, and to mingle.

In comments, they have to be 100 *characters* or more to count.

    "know" = no.

Also, as an addition, if you win Honorable Mention, you get five points + trophy.
