I have been new once, well, we all have, and I am excited to see that you've joined. This is kinda a small site, if you ask me. I mean, everyone I ask is like, "Huh? Storywrite?"
I found it...well, actually I don't remember how I found it. Oh, wait. There it is, back in my brain.
A friend, Kara, introduced me. I think it's a great site, even though she deleted her account.I've made friends with many people, and all of them have been great to me through tough times. Not that I HAVE any tough times online, but if you did, they would help you. *rolls eyes* I am soooo boring, right?
Well, it gets better. Actually, it doesn't...I'm just saying that to capture your attention. But no one likes a liar, right?
Anyway, Kara used to have an active account, but she deleted it because she thinks the site is boring. It is MOST CERTAINLY NOT! She didn't realize the chatterbox feature, where you can chat with other members and ask for help, on the right side in the little box.
And then the greeters come in. Greeters always give you a message welcoming you and asking to be your friend, so of course you won't be lonely when you first join. And if you jump right to the chatterbox first, you will make tons of friends by saying you're new!
Ah, the groups. Fun, fun, fun. You can join a group by clicking on the third button from the beginning on the top. Read what the group is about, who're in it (maybe your friend's in it), and then type a small passage saying why you'd be good in this group (in some groups, you can join automatically).
Now the contests. If you have 100 or more points (and if you are willing to give them up for a good read), you can put your mouse over the "Contests" button second from the left on the top of the screen and under it you should see: "Start a contest." Click on it and go from there! Remember, there are a lot of choices and options, so look carefully. And, points will be deducted if you don't judge it three weeks after your contest closes.
Well, my work here is done. *takes long, deep breath* Phew!
Oh my gosh! I actually ALMOST FORGOT! The most important part of Storywrite! Can you believe it????!!!
The story.
Once you verify your account using your Email, it should pull up a page with a blank screen so you can begin writing. But after that, to write a story you must click on "Add a story" on the very top of the screen, pick a background, and go from there!
