If you don't know what you believe in then you will just conform yourself into what other people want you to believe in. If you become a follower, a conformist, you will be nothing except a stranger to yourself.
Morals are what keep you going; they are the spawn of your conscience. If you ignore your conscience then you are ignoring yourself. And most people know that they don't like to be ignored.
