StoryWrite Greeter Team Application

This is the new application page for a position on the StoryWrite Greeters Team.
________________________________________________________

Basic criteria for becoming a StoryWrite Greeter

1. 6 Months on the StoryWrite site.
2. Age 17 and older.
3. An ability to get along with others.
4. No Code of Conduct violations for 6 months. This includes ChatterBox as well as Code of Conduct violations on any of the sister sites.
5. A working knowledge of the StoryWrite features and site functions.
6. A history of commenting regularly on stories.

A good candidate is a person who enjoys reading and commenting on others and finds it rewarding to encourage new writers.

The greeters team is usually the first point of contact a new member has to the StoryWrite site. Greeter duties include

1. Welcoming new members to the site.
2. Reading and commenting on new members' stories.
3. Answering questions that any member on the site might have and manning the Help Desk.
4. Generally helping the new member feel comfortable with site navigation.
5. Judging the Monthly New Members Contest.
6. Helping the new member integrate into the StoryWrite community.

If you meet the criteria and have a desire to encourage new writers, apply in a response to this column. Briefly answer these questions in your application and give us a brief description telling us why you think you would be a good greeter.

1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?

2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?

3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)

If you are considered for the position, you will be notified. If you are not immediately notified after you leave your application, please be patient. There are numerous members applying, and every one of them is given the same attention while we evaluate them when a position opens up.

If there is a reason that your application absolutely cannot be accepted we will notify you of that as well and let you know when you are eligible to apply again.

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?

I am online daily 6 days a week.
On hour basis it would be 6 hours and 8 the latest (When I’m having a really fun time reading and talking to friends)

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?

The one that best describes me is trustworthy I am not a gossiper nor am I a boring old hag : P
I think that being trustworthy is very important to me because if I cannot trust someone why would I be friends with them.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)
Since I have been here I have learned about the rules of the site, the chatterbox, critiquing someone’s story ECT.
The main reason I would like to be chosen is because I am kind and I enjoy welcoming people, I am not shy either.

    1. I can spend up to 2-3 hours especially when I'm 'neck deep' in story writing as well as editing
    __________

    2. Both. I perfer to keep any and all things that are confidential ...confidental- and it's not my style to blab business that isn't of my own or came from my own mind and lips
    __________

    3. Very. Being a former SW Greeter, I know that if there was a question being asked which stumped me, I'd not hesitate to ask another fellow Greeter and/or Moderator.

  • can i be a greeter

    Age: 21

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?

    * Ispend an average of one or two hours at a time, depending on what I'm doing. At most I'll be on four or 6 hours.everyday.(i had a old account but it got hacked and frozen was here for 2 years though)

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?

*Trustworthy.I keep all my friends secrets.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)

    * I know my way around.know all the rules

  • Miss Hanako Megumi

    Hey There,

I would just like to submit purely for future reference. Just so it's out there. I just finished being a moderator, I guess it wasn't my style, I read a lot of stories and comment alot. I hold contests often and it would be really awesome to be a greeter.

    Here are my stats:

    Age: 20

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?

    * I spend an average of one or two hours at a time, depending on what I'm doing. At most I'll be on three or four hours. I am on everyday though, and re-connect two or three times.

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?

*Trustworthy would describe me better. I don't tell on people and I keep business to myself. If I am confided in, that conversation doesn't leave my lips.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)

    * I know my way around SW very well, like I said before I used to be a Moderator. I know all the rules and stuff, and am familiar with many groups and users.

    Short Essay:

I liked being a moderator, but it didn't fit me well I guess. I enjoy talking to people and answering questions. I do not have a passive attitude towards problems, if I don't know how to do something I ask someone else. I learn quickly but I take my time getting into stride. I am even minded and very good with problems.

I know I would make a better greeter than I did a Moderator, oh, and I don't abuse my power. I don't like that, it just isn't right. lol.

Anyway, thanks so much for reading this and considering. You guys do a great job, and I know it's hard work. : )

    Thanks again,
    Miss Hanako Megumi

I feel that I could get along with new people very well which is why I'm applying for a greeter position.

I attend SW everyday except for weekends (Saturday & Sunday) and when I'm away doing a uni course.

I'd have to say trustworthy for question 2, though outgoing comes dreadfully close.

I know a decent bit about the site, but maybe fellow greeters could teach me about the occasional things that I don't know.

Sorry I keep pestering you fellas, I just really wanna become a greeter. And now (I think) I've been on for 6 months, so yeah.

  • 1. During the week, I spend an average of at least three-five, maybe even six or seven times a day. The only time I'm not on is if I'm not home and if I'm at school [they blocked this site at my school otherwise I'd be on it].

    2. I would have to go with being trustworthy. I think that it is important to have people trust you, especially if you are in an important position like being a Greeter.

    3. I know quite a lot about the site. I've used the emoticons, feautured stories, run contests, but there may be a few things I do not know but people could direct me in the right direction. I know enough to get around the site and use it right. I've even read the Storywrite Policy and the prodecdures.

I love reading and commenting on stories. Since I joined this site, I've held 30 contests, won a lot of trophies, I have commented on stories 1020 times, and I have been improving on not just my writing but on the site and how it runs.

It would be an honor if I were to be a SW Greeter. Thank you for your consideration.

It would mean so much to me to have this position. It's a wonderful opportunity to meant new people. I think I'd be a very good greeter because I'm friendly and love reading new stories and commenting on them. I know I'm only sixteen, but I will be seventeen in less than a month and I hope you'll consider me anyways or when I turn seventeen. Okay, questions:
    1. I spend at least an hour a day on SW.
    2. I'm a lot more trustworthy than outgoing.
    3. I know pretty much everything about SW. There's a few things I probably don't know everything about, but I think I'd still be good at answering questions.
    Thanks for your consideration!

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?
This changes, recently been a bit less due to Uni, but it still gets to be about 3/4 hours a day. Weekends it increases to 5/6 hours a day. All depends on who's in the CB I guess.

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?
Trustworthy, definetly, Outgoing I can seem to be, but I'd never consider myself as thus.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)
I've done a lot of things, been a lot of places, of course I haven't been everywhere but I know enough to point people in the right direction if I don't know exactly.

    1. I spent approx. 5-6 a day (average) on storywrite, and over a week, could be anything from 30 to 60 hours, as sometimes I will spent all day, or all night on here.

    2. I would best describe myself as many things, but trustworthy is one of the top few things that people have commented about me. I am also outgoing - in the Real World I work as a Youth Worker, so I feel my skills could be best applied here as a Greeter.

    3. As for site savvy, I have been here since August, but most active recently. I am running the first of many contests(hopefully) aimed at providing aspiring writers a chance to improve their work and be awarded for it. I also comment regularly - nine times out of ten I provide a thoughtful critique on the story, rather than 'that's nice', as I feel people are on this site to not just share their work, but also improve.

hi, i might not ft that thing. but i daresay i will be a good greeter. I have always worked on these kind of things and I would say you will never find anyone better than me. accept me now before i change my mind.

  • 1. I spend between 40-50 hours each week on Storywrite. I'm usually on first thing in the mornings before I go to work, and then straight after up until about 10 or 11 at night (GMT). On a Sunday, I can be on all day

    2. I would definately say I was trustworthy. I think its important to be outgoing as well, as you have to be friendly, but I think people should be able to trust you more as well, as you are in an important position.

    3. I know my way around the site extremely well. I have used almost every section on this site I think, from the featured stories section, to contests, to the emoticons page. I have also recently being reading up on the correct procedures and rules of SW, to make sure I stay on the right side of thew law around here!

I love reading other people's stories and leaving comments, and I especially like it when a new member joins and you read their stuff and think 'wow!'
I already greet a lot of new members, and I try to leave guestbook entries to make them feel more welcome, and I'm always happy to answer any questions anyone has if they are new to the site.

Anyhoo, fingers crossed you'll consider me ,
    ~Miranda

Thank you for your invitation to become a greeter.

I log into Storywrite about every day so to give you an approximate time per week, I would have to say up to 15 to 18 hours per week and more depending on weekends and holidays because there is more time willing.

Your second question tore me apart because I consider myself to be an outgoing person but when it comes to deciding, I would have to say trustworthy. There are a lot of sensitive issues that I have to keep to myself during the course of my workday as well as personal information that passes by me that have to stay confidential. I have learned to become very trustworthy and I pride myself on being trusted by the people I work with.

I believe I know the site map of Storywrite to maneuver through the site and become a greeter. Since I started, I have taken the time to read up on the procedures so I don’t get myself into trouble. The best thing about the site is that it is user friendly and I have come to quickly be able to access the information I need, in order for me to solve a problem or answer my own questions.

I would make a good greeter because I enjoy meeting new people. Ever since I started my own group on Storywrite, I greet all members that join and encourage him or her to take a look at the reading lists, the site and join contests that would help their writing. I enjoy reading and commenting on member stories as well as run contests that gets other people to comment on the stories listed.

Since I started in September 2007, I have given 391 comments, I have run 25 contests and have written 1 column that was accepted for the front page of Storywrite. I have also received many trophies for which I am very proud. I have also become a member of the month and I consider myself to be an active member of Storywrite. I can be overzealous in my comments but I do what I can to give positive, constructive and helpful critiques. I believe that Storywrite has the ability to instill confidence in future and current writers and I would like to be someone who is a part of that.

    Thank you for your consideration.

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?

I spend a good amount of time on here. I don't know exactly HOW long I'll stay, but I'm here for a bit.

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?

Trustworthy. I keep secrets, and I am kind of outgoing. But, trustworthy fits me better.

    3. How site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)

I know it really well. I could help someone with something if need be.

I’m putting myself on the line here, mainly because I love being invited to join a group. It makes me feel special and shows that my efforts are appreciated.

Of the 6 point criteria, I seem to have achieved all but number 5, I still need help in finding my way around the site. Still, several of your members can attest to the fact I try hard.

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW? While this fluctuates, I believe about 25 to 35 hours. Almost daily 3 to 4 hours before I leave for work. Weekends and evenings vary depending on other required activity.

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you? I try not to describe myself; I leave that to others who deal with me. But in making a choice, I prefer trustworthy since even serial killers are rather outgoing.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?) I can fill a new member in on many basic functions, when their requirements or questions become too technically elaborate I know how to cry for help.

    Thank You For The Invite

    1. I come in here on SW almost every day, I like reading stories and commenting on SW.
    2. I would describe myself as trustworthy and outgoing. I am very easy to get along with, and I can be trusted, trust is the most important thing.
    3. I know a lot about how this site works, my best friend is B Chandler and she has taught me a lot of things about SW and AP.

I would like to thank you for the invite and I hope to be part of the SW greeter team.

I'm on pretty much every day from about 8am-2pm.

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?

Trustworthy. Ask anyone that knows me I don't lie for any reason.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)

I know how to post stories, comment, hmmmm... how to search for stories and users. Any other stuff I can't think of. I'll figure out.

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?
I would say I'm on about 21 hours of the week, of course sometimes the time varies with the amount of schoolwork I recieve or my job, or other events but most of the time you can find me on SW.

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?
I would choose trustworthy of the word that best describes me. Others have found it easy to confide in me and I have been told so much how loyal of a friend I am.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)

I am pretty savvy about the site, I know most of the sites rules, and I am friends with a few greeters and a mod so I do have the help if I ever need it. I love this site it has given me the chance to express myself and I would feel honored to be put on the staff as a greeter.

    2. I’d prefer to be described as trustworthy because I strive to keep peoples trust when I gain it.

    3. I am pretty savvy about SW, but if I need help I know the people to ask. I’m friends with a few greeters already and a few mods, so I have help if I need it. I also know most of the rules. I love this site and learn new stuff about it everyday.

    Application

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?
A few hours or so, I don't get home until around five, sometimes seven, and since I'm in school, I have homework and everything. But I do check on the site quite often.

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?
I'd say trustworthy. I've been told that I'm very loyal and a great person to talk to for advice.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)
I'd like to think that I know quite a bit. I'm aware of all of the rules and follow them, I know how to add contests, how the point system works, etc. I may not have everything down to a T, but I try to learn as much as I can, and I'm patient enough to help those who have a question.

I wasn't paying attention when I applied on the group page, lol, so sorry about that. Anyway, I would really like to be a greeter, I was one last year, and had fun with it, but had to stop because of my age. Now, I'm of the right age to greet, and would definitely enjoy greeting again.

I’m still semi-new to some of the stuff that goes on and do occasionally have to ask whether something is or is not allowed, but I’d like to help out those that I can.

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?
Lets see, 8 1/2 hrs @ work a day and about 4 on the weekends so roughly 50 hrs. a week. Give or take an hour depending on if I actually have work to do!

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you? Interesting question. I would of course choose Trustworthy. But since I am already described as such maybe I should change it up. Nah, trustworthy is just fine.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)
I like to think of myself as site savvy. I've held a few contests and I am one of the steady few responding and posting in the forums. I like to think of myself as helpful to those I meet in the CB or through reviews. I try to lead by example were applicable. I'd be the first to admit I don't know the SW rules & procedures ver batum but I think I understand the main points and of course I'm always willing to learn more!

    I appreciate the time.
    Happy Writing!

    1. On a typical week (not including weeks I have breaks from school or heavy homework loads) I am on StoryWrite around 24 to 30 hours. As I said, this does fluctuate depending on life events.

    2. If I had to choose between being called "Trustworthy" or "Outgoing" I would probably rather be considered trustworthy. Being able to be trusted is - and being able to not abuse that trust - is, to me, a more important concept than being outgoing. However, I'm not sure one of these personality traits would be very beneficial without the other.

    3. I have been a member of this site for some time now - over a year, I believe - and I have learned just about everything a non-department head can know about how StoryWrite works. Granted, I am still getting used to some of the newer revisions, but I can and have on several occasions helped others figure out how to work various aspects of the site.

I think I would be a good greeter because I am usually pretty active in both the Chatterbox and in commenting. I try to comment every day, though classes and school work often get in the way. Especially during finals and mid-terms. Anyway, I love greeting new members and helping them find their way around and making friends with them.

Thank you for taking time to read this.

    Finish Of Application

    SECTION 1,
#1: I think that I would love to say hi to new members of the site, because I enjoy talking to people and saying hi to new people.

#2: I turned 17 on September 29th of this year, so I do fit the age requirements, even if it is just by a couple weeks.

#3: I have a good amount of friends on this site, and would definitely be able to get along with anyone that will message me...

#4: I haven't done anything against the site rules and stuff...or anything having to do with the code of conduct, either.

#5: I have a good knowledge of the StoryWrite features and site function, like how you can add pics and such, not to mention how you can post pics in your stories. When you're a gold member, you can also make new background and upload them from your computer or another site.

#6: I do comment regularly on stories, but I sometimes don't use the site as much as other times...I can comment and read in large amounts.

    SECTION 2,
#1: I will definitely welcome new members to the site...

#2: I will definitely comment on new members' stories...

#3: I would definitely answer questions from other members that may ask them. I also will help manning the Help Desk, not only because it sounds fun, but because it sounds important.

#4: I will surely help new members to get used to site navigation...

#5: That would be something I would definitely love to do, to help judge the new members' contest.

#6: I will definitely help new members integrate into the StoryWrite community...

There is the rest of my application. I think that is all of the application, but if I am wrong, then you can message me about it...

How much time during the week do you spend on SW?

Well, Iv`e spent almost eighteen hours a day here for three days now. Even when some greeters were not on.

If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?

Trustworthy, there`s no point in getting someone to do a job if they can`t be trusted.

How much site savvy do you have about SW?

I know to keep my language clean while on the cb, I know how to post stories and to change their background. I know that I would be breaking site rules if I were to intentionally hurt the feelings of another user and prevent them from being here.

    1. I spend at least 20 hours or so a week on storywrite, about 3 hours at least a day.

    2. Well, I'm very trust worthy, but I'm also outgoing, so I can't really say one of those describes m better...

    3. I know a fair bit about this site, mainly because I use it very often and I think that stories are very fun to read and write, comment on and help with...

    Greeter

    Greeters
1.Naturaly i spend 8 or more hours on SW every day,i enjoy writing stories, most of the time while im on i am in groups commenting on stories and welcoming the new peeps in the site and commenting on there stuff i usualy dont do more than that.Dispite the lack of comments everyday i go and greet the new people on the site and read there stories and comment i know i practicly live here and still it seems i have a lack in comments, but i do comment on them everyday.and i spend 8 or more hours a day not a week i spend about 56 hours a week and usually on when the rest of the greeters are not.

2.Im both trustworthy and outgoing, but i think i would be more trustworthy. When people talk to me they trust me they know i wont lie and they know they can trust me with anything, it realy makes me a better person to be around.
3.I know plenty about how the site works,of coruse the usual adding Stories, cutomizing your page, looking at contest, how to look at all the new poems, the new people that have just joined.Other things like getting to the emoticons.i know about the mods, greeters.i know how to make contests.and if a person asks for something or were it is im 100% posive i know were it is.my dad works with computors so off of this site i too know how to do practily anything if you just ask.i know about all the classes,i know how groups and other things how to find stuff.I also can do many things outside of SW,i can make vids i program computors things like that.

i know i dont have a lot of comments but i do everyday greet the new members and comment on there poetry if they have written any yet.all i want to do is help the site please consider.

    Thanks for looking- -maddie

Hmm... I'm on this site quite a bit, yet I don't fit all the criteria... I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do BESIDES greeting, that'd really be helpful to the site.

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?
    Well I spend up to 8 - 10 hours on here a day and 6 - 18 on weekends...but i'm on everyday

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?
I'm both. Trustworthy more then outgoing though. People always tend to feel comfortable to talk to me which I value. Trust is also a huge part in my life.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)
Well I asked questions and read rules so I know quite alot. I love to read people stories, comment, talk in the cb and make new friends. I haven't yet been here 6months though it feels like I have been with all the wonderful people on this site. I love to help people how ever I can.

If i'm too early i'll wait till I am allowed to apply

    Thanks for your time

    Umm, Hi!

I am gonna apply to this.. though I don't know really what I am doing. though I know all the rules and currently am a mod/greeters lapdog as I pretty much try to help people stay in line. I will try harder to comment on people's work. Even though I am almost always in the cb. If I get in tell me, please. If I don't tell me please. just so I know. thanks.

Hi. Several months ago, I had a conversation with Violet Moodswings through Private Messaging when my account name was PrinceWolf. She said I could apply for a Greeter's position at the end of May.

I spend roughly 40 hours a week on StoryWrite. Most of the time I am chatting with people on the ChatterBox and running the occasional contests.

If I had a choice I would say a bit of both evenly. Trustworthy because I always do what I say I am going to do and outgoing because I am not afraid to say what needs to be said.

I know my way around the site fairly well because I have asked questions, read the help section, and have been able to help people find what they are looking for. If I am accepted and I don't know where to find something I will ask my fellow Greeters for help.

Heya. Here is my application. First though, a few things about me:

I am a chalk drawing that came to life a few moments before it started raining, thus escaping with my life and a rotund cactus. I currently live under a pile of cardboard boxes, spend an ungodly amount of time on the internet posing as a writer, and have a picture of Oscar Wilde on my cardboard wall. I have an obnoxious habit of disliking badly written prose and being honest when commenting. My cat, cleverly named Cleopatra, is actually a reincarnated coffee mug.

    Now to the actual application:

    1. Dunno. Just got back from a long hiatus. From what I recall of my stints in the sister sites, allpoetry and sharepoetry, an hour or three throughout the day on the weekends, about an hour per work days. (but I may be underestimating the addicting nature of the internet: where does the time go?). In short: On and off.

    2. Trustworthy. No question there. I don't feel like elaborating, but I value trust in others and make sure to do things by a (how silly this sounds written out!) sort of sense of honor.

    3. I'm pretty good with websites, and I have been around for a while. Don't ask me about technicalities (Why in the world does the page to see who has me on their favorites list keep coming up as "error"?), but I can navigate well enough about the site in specific, and the internet in general.

Much love, and thanks for your time,
    Naiya

Hello My name is Tabbie. I am here to apply for the job.

Question 1: I spend about 2 to 3 hours a day through the weekday on SW. On the weekends I spend about 2 hours a day on SW. I enjoy the experiance so much.

Question 2: I would pick Trustworthy. I feel that I am trustworthy. I have been with allpoetry for over 2 years. I have my own group there and it is very active and I have about 100 members. I hold regular contest with them and comment on their work. I feel that being trustworthy is the most important quiality that someone could hold. For if you are not trustworthy then who would want you to work for them, No one. If you are not trustworthy, Who could count on you, No one. Many people in your life could suffer pain, if you are not trustworthy, Like, friends and family and your workplace. It is very important. I put this quility first in my life.

Question 3: I know quite a bit about computers. I went to college and learned a bit. I have helped friends and family with Allpoetry site and I have learned the rules there. I know that most of SW rules and regulations are the same as Allpoetry. I love to help people of all backgrounds. I am not bias and I love to read many things. I am a Christian but I love science fiction stories, Love stories, horror stories, adventrue stories, and many many more. I have an open mind. I feel that first impressions are lasting ones. The first impression you get of someone will make you come to conclusions about things, so the first impressions should be the best. I am a people person and love to help people. I think this is what we should do as a people. If you are there for others, they will apprechiate you and it is fullfilling. If I don't know something I will learn it. We learn new things everyday. I am not saying I know it all, I know there is a lot for me to learn. I am willing to learn. This old dog can learn new tricks. I do hope you will concider me for the job. I will enjoy this experiance. It will be a blessing to me. I love people and love to read, If I can help others with words of encouragement, It makes me happy. I have so many times pointed people to my publishing company cause I know how it feels to be a new writter wanting to be published. I want to help other people make their dreams come true also.

Thank you so much for you time,

    Have a blessed day,

    Tabbie

    1. Not much as of yet, because I divide my time as an Allpoetry site teacher and an Oldpoetry moderator. But I can easily get in time for SW...as much as required. Just punch in the amnt of hours you need from me, and you'll have them.
    2. Outgoing firstly. And then trustworthy.
    3. Well I've been around on AP, OP, SW, SP for quite some time now. I do spend a lot of time surfing all these sites.

Question 1: I spend about 2 to 3 hours a day, through the weekday, and about 1 hour on the weekends. All together about 12 hours a week.

Question 2: If I had to chose from the two I would say trustworthy. I think this is more important than anything. With friends, family, and others you need this quality because if you can not be trusted that what is it all good for. I make this quility #1 in my life, in all that I do.

Question 3: I know quite a bit. I am still learning everyday. I don't think anyone ever can learn enough. We learn something new everyday. I have been with Allpoetry site for about 2 years or more. I have been learning so much there. I have helped friends and family use this site. I hope to do the same here. If I don't know something I will learn it. I am a quick learner and enjoy meeting new people. I believe the first impressions are the lasting ones, I I believe this is a very important job.

I know I have only been here a few months but I plan on being here for a long time. I love this site as much as I do, Allpoetry and that is saying a lot. I even put a Thank you in my book that is published and is out to buy. I think a lot of these two sites, I feel like I am at home when I am here.

I do hope you will concider me. If you need any more information please feel free to let me know and I will give you all the information I can.

    Thank you all,
    Have a blessed day,

    Tabbie

    1. I spend between 4 and 5 hours a day on the site during the week, and more over the weekend. I am usually on-line during the mid-day and early evening periods. ( That's GMT! )
    2. If I had a choice, I would prefer to be considered trustworthy. I believe that being honest, reliable and dependable are very important qualities in a person. We can all come across as outgoing, but being trustworthy is a quality you genuinely need to possess.
    3. As far as site savvy goes, I taught both my partner and daughter to use both this, and the AllPoetry site, with no problems. I have helped out a few on-line friends with certain navigation problems, and have so far not run into a problem or question I have not been able to figure out. Although I have not been a member of Storywrite for very long, I have been on AP longer, and the sites are very similar to navigate etc.

    Thanks,
    Beckie.

    Application

It appears that Kari has invited me to become a greeter and a member of the greeters group. I am good with people, usually. I adhere to and support site policy as well as I am aware of it, although I haven't looked it over lately. I like people and I believe I would enjoy being a greeter. I have been a member of Allpoetry since 1-3-05 and a member of Storywrite since it began. As a member I am very familiar with Allpoetry and Storywrite. I spend more than thirty hours a week on Storywrite and Allpoetry. I am retired and consider my vocation writing though as yet I am still unpaid. I am trustworthy, but also outgoing at Storywrite. It is difficult to choose which I am most.

    A stricture on word structure.

As writers, recognising the fallibility of the computer spell-checker, surely our spelling should be as perfect as reference to dictionary and thesaurus can make it.
Consequently I was surprised to find the following
errors in the 'StoryWrite Greeter Team Application Form':

    possition

    answerring

    intergrate

    eligable

It also seems unnecessary to use a word like 'savvy'
and then have to include a translation of it.

Finally the stories written by new members are new members' stories.

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?
Well actually i honestly i spend like my free time on ap and sw.. So that would be about 1 or 2 hrs daily. Sometimes i read other times i just roam around looking and observing sw or just getting to know the people better.

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?

Well i think more than trustworthy im more of an outgoing person. Instead of just looking for people i know i look for those who i don't and read and help them to improve if i can and sometimes i get good feed back others not soo good.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)

I know quite a bit about the people on sw im very found of the atmoshpere here at sw. Bieng a greeter would mean gettting to help new comers feel welcomed and im very good at that.

Well this is all i can say about it.. Any more questions im me.. Thanx

    George Abbey...

I have chosen to answer the following questions as truthfully as possible...

    1. How much time during the week do you spend on SW?

I spend around 40 hours on SW every week, simply observing...but, really, it depends on what I have planned in my every day life. I am currently involved in several charities in and outside the Atlanta, Ga city limits, but I do promise to do the job to the best of my ability.

    2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?

I have been known to lend an ear to any trouble that anyone may be facing, and have been told more often that I'm trustworthy. I guess that's what describes me the most. I like to take it upon myself to be kind and considerate when others are in the dumps. I was born and raised that way.

    3. How much site savvy do you have about SW?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)

My computer doesn't allow me to use the Chatterbox, but, other than that, I'm quite site savvy.

I applied for this position because I want to help other writers improve. I think that a little help, a little hope, and a little love and understanding is what writers need sometime. I want to be there...to help in any way possible.
