Do any of you actually hate writing?

Sometimes. But stopping for a while helps, or starting something else.

Dave has a point.

I like writing. I see it as drug - it helps me to get a ruuush and escape from this reality into another of my own creation.

I used to do that... when I was in high school

when i read the 1st post i feel tempted to replace the word "writing" with the word "painting" (I love the finished product, but the proccess of painting irritates me to no end) i feel that if the proccess of writing (or any other activity) is "irritating" for you, then (even if you love the finished product) why do you do it?
i went through a phase where writing down stuff was absolutely neccassary for my sanity, i'm a left-handed personality type and i had all these characters/story-arc/story-changing ideas floating around in my head where if i hadn't had the ability to write down these things, i would have gone totally insane, but you don't seem to have that problem, you have prolly had somebody tell you your writing is great, and you might be addicted to hearing other people respond positively to the finished product, but whatever the reason, you feel the need to finish something that you don't enjoy while you're doing it, so from a therapist type person's POV, i'd tell you that if you're not having fun durring the "proccess" of writing, then don't write, don't write (or paint or build a car) just because you want the finished product, you should be having fun durring the proccess of writting
but that's just my opinion feel free to disagree with me

I don't exactly hate writing itself but like many of you, I ADORE the finished product but get fed up half way through. I have sudden bursts of energy and inspiration to work (such as now) and I have to make the most of them. I hate writing when I don't have them, but love writing when I do. If that makes any sense.....

i just need to get the things on paper

I love it when you give me something to start with. I cant come up with my own ideas sometimes.

I absolutely don't hate writing. I don't think people who hate writing should write. You should do something you really love. I think people are better at things when they actually like doing it.

wring is work. i hate work, therfore i hate wrting... well hate isnt a good word but i dont like it, just the results
