How about beginning writing classes again? I'd like to earn some pretty blue trophies and I always like to learn more about the craft.
-
Hmm .. this one is new to me.
What were they? -
-
Yes.
For a short while there were a couple of writing classes, then they were all moved to Allpoetry. SageSyren has one of the blue trophies. -
-
Oh, right.
Blue trophies for writing class competitions?
Sounds cool.
Now, who was the SW Activities Leader again ...?

This was brought up in another topic a while back. I think all the infor is here.

I never posted the reply I received (
), but it was basically along the lines of... anyone that wants to teach can apply, and they'd love to have some story based techers. The classes are open entry/open exit, which means you join when you want, and take the assignments at your own pace. When you're done, you're done.
I would like to see some on SW, though, so the trophies can be appied here and not to Allpoetry. (Back when I took the classes, there were no trophies, so I never got one
)

I definitely agree that it would be great for SW to have its own classes section instead of having to go through AP.
-
Yes, that would be great.
I've seen the classes in AP and wondered why we don't have our own in SW. I would participate in them. I need all the help I can get.
So how do we go about getting it started?

RE: Writing Classes
For those that are interested in attending the new classes to be started on Storywrite, I would like to invite you to take this poll on the 'About Writing' forum board:

This complements the existing class, ...
Trying again:
I already have had a Standard English grammar course in AP school, taking students from basic through high school level to college. This is exactly the prodding I needed to complete an improved 2009 edition that reflects your real needs, with bonus points for those who contribute.
Available on demand are forty assignment sets from which to choose. The courses recognize both Usage (US English) and Standard English, and deals with punctuation, sentence structure, paragraphing, grammar, and editing skills.
About me (Like who would presume to teach such courses?) Totally firm in Standard English (UK etc.)I am a qualified teacher, retired, with Master's degree in Education and 35 years of classroom experience including Adult Ed.
In AllPoetry two trophies were established for each series of eight assignments so I would presume the same would apply here, with a trophy available after any set of four related topics and a piece of writing applying the concepts found in them.
Course A will continue in AllPoetry but available here as well. Course B, C, and D are here, as is E which is technical for top students (sentence analysis) who have completed at least one complete earlier set of eight assignments with good scores.
Supported by my websites (© Terry Gibson) all lessons are fully displayed and explained there, with additional help available by IM and/or colour(UK) to clarify tricky points by E-mail. (Parents invited to monitor e-mails)
Terry
