I have a basic storyline sorted (I love it!) about the decay o love, and how it destroys everything.
I originally intended to have a gay couple, but I could have a striaght couple that would fit - only the characters would be brother and sister.
It's set in a fantasy world, so I'm not sure how well either coupling would work. I know I won't be able to do it as well if they're just a normal straight couple, though.
Ideas? Is it wrong to write about incest/gay love in a fantasy world? Or just in general? -
well it all depends how they meet and how it destroys everything. like if it were a gay oouple it could desroy the family but what else do you intend to happen in the story? whats the climax at the end?

i'm not sure whether i'll have a happy ending, where they die as lovers, or leave it with the idea that they will carry on trying to kill each other for the rest of eternity (and be imortal so they can't succeed)
for the brother/sister - his sister is sold as a "bedwarmer" when he is eight, and she is thirteen, and there would be some sort of reuinion. they were best friends as kids, and after a break you're apparently more likely to fancy your siblings anyway.
the gay partner...i'm not sure how they would meet

well if u r doin a sibiling one and the sister was sold then they could meet at school or when they're just hanging out etc. if its a gay couple they could meet through normal circumstances (work/school, meeting somewhere etc) and first become friends and then fall in love.

i'm now slightly stuck again.
In a fantasy world a school setting wouldn't really work. it's sort of medieval world.
The sister thing could work if he meets up with the noble who bought her, and finds her as an official mistress or something.
but the only ideal gay partner i have now is the man that he works for (the noble is 14 atm, he is 10, so it wouldn't be for a few years) but i don't know that it would work out that well.

I think you need to think the storyline through before you begin.
Gay or straight couple? Brother and sister or not? Etc.
Incest or not? WHO is going to be doing WHAT to whom, WHEN?
WHY? and HOW?
You need to get all your ducks lined up in a row before allow them to swim in the pond. -

Generally my writing doesn't work like that, though. The best characters are the ones I write in last. The characters sort of sort themselves out. I hardly ever plan, and when i do, it's pretty sketchy. And that's what I'm trying to do now, get a sketch of the plot. (sorry if that sounds rude, I'm not trying to be
)

Not at all, don't worry about it. I normally write in a logical, linear fashion.
Maps of locales, and characters personality profiles, and drawings/picture of what they look like, and where they fit into the story.
Plot. Theme. Characters. Sub-characters. Everyone's role in the story and leave nothing to chance.
Good luck with your method.
