Jelly Bracelets

If you have daughters and your little angels wear those colorful, rubbery jelly bracelets to school, then you're going to want to hear this.

Last week, jelly bracelets were banned by school officials at Angevine Middle School in Lafayette, Colorado (about 15 miles northwest of Denver)

According to an email by the school's principal, quote, "Reports indicate that the colors of the bracelets signify different inappropriate actions that students will do or have done.  Due to the nature of the inappropriateness associated with these bracelets, we are asking students not to wear them."

In other words, students allegedly use the bracelet as a sort of road map to let the other kids know just how slutty they are.  So which sex act does each color stand for?

    Yellow: Hugging
    Purple: Kissing
    Red: Lap dance
    White: Flashing
    Blue: Oral favors
    Black: Sex
    Glittery Blue: No-go hole sex
    Clear: Anything goes

I thought it was just a poorly chosen fashion statement. Now it's just one more place on a girl for a guy to check out.

i heard about this awhile back also when another school somewhere came forward about it. that's crazy. "kids these days" lol

however, if a child is wearing them, it doesn't always mean this.
Around here, the red ones are given away at the schools during drug-free month from D.A.R.E or whatever it's called.

Drug-free month or lap dance month?
      Dancing And Riding Everyone.
      That's wrong I know.
I was actually in D.A.R.E. back in the day. The real one, not that bad pun that I just made up.
I'd probably be kicked out of it now, for several reasons, but that's besides the point.

So instead of hugs and kisses will people start signing 'Yellows and Purples' at the end of greeting cards?
  • That's been going on for over six years.

Interesting and thanks for the heads up. My daughter is in middle school now and it is nice to know about these things, even if it's been going around for a couple of years.

Weird. The most we ever did with those sot of bracelets was hand them to someone you fancy. Well, that's apparently what other people did with them. I just wore them if they matched my outfit!
But then, maybe this side of the big bit of sea, girls don't like to advertise 'inappropriate actions'. Hang on. No, they do here as well!
