I had this happen earlier today (well, technically yesterday now that it's after midnight.) I think this is because I've been under stress, and I wrote it when I was kinda feeling 'meh.' BUT, after playing Sims 3 for hours on end (about three,) I looked at it and thought, 'Hmmm... this doesn't sound bad at all.'
Of course, this makes me paranoid because I'm wondering if it IS actually good, and my (now) good mood seems to think it's good, when before I thought it was kinda bad.
I've thought about sending said piece to send (not through here, but through email) to see if it's just me being paranoid, but I dunno. I was just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences and whether or not I should be paranoid. lol. -
OK
a few things,
first you're not alone in this experience. There have been many times where, while writing, I was thinking This isn't any good, why am I still typing? I should delete this. But then the next day or several days later I would return to said piece intent on its deletion and be pleasantly surprised to find that it infact doesn't suck.
I've also had the reverse happen to me. I would swear I was writing the next great novel, literary gold and I had best make sure my bedroom door was locked unless I want a publisher to break it down with one of those giant novelty sized checks telling me I can quit my day job. Then, the next day rolls around, and I realize much to my chagrin, that I could have placed peanut butter on the keyboard, placed it on the floor and let my dogs lick out a better story.
I say give it time and look at it again, if you're still not sure of the quality...post it here.
Also I am very disappointed in you. Everyone was doing so well to shove that ridiculous thread about why old people are scared of 13 -18 yr old writers (or something like that) and then you had to make a comment on it and bring it back up the list. For shame Kody.
But you did start a new thread so I guess theres that.
Oh, one more thing, maybe I'm reading it wrong but what is 'send'?

I'd say post it here--believe me you'll get enough feed back. Then YOU can decide to either schuck the whole thing, rework it or put it away for a time and go back to it at a later date. No pain no gain, as the saying goes.

I never toss what I create, even if I think it's complete
. Sometimes I can go back and make it work, other times I'll steal parts from it and adapt for a new story.

I tend to be other way round
I'll think an idea is awsome when i'm writing it, and the next day i will think "what a load of crap" and dump it in the archive.
