(I could not find some of the songs. Let me know of any errors.)

For the rules... basically, someone posts a part of a song - be it a verse, the chorus, or just a line - and someone has to figure out what the song is.

Whoever gets it first gets to post the next line of a song for someone to figure out.

Simple, right? Well, here are some tips/stipulations:
•Keep it simple - don't start giving a line that could be used in any old song, and try to use songs that most people here should have heard by now. Don't use a song from a band that you 'just found on MySpace and thought they were so cool!'
•I shouldn't have to mention this, but... don't use the title of the song if it's in the lyrics.
•Please don't post the entire song... keep your posts short, 'kay?
•You can use hints if you think it's necessary.
Please don't use any rap songs. They're nothing more than rhythmic monologues about *bunny*s and more *bunny*s
•This should be obvious... but DON'T CHEAT! Of course, we have no way of telling (or do we? ) but where's the satisfaction in getting it right if you had to look up the lyrics to give the right answer?
•If a song goes a week without being guessed, it's fair game for anyone to add a different song

I'm hoping this will catch on as a way to pass a few minutes of our day, so keep it going

Come on Eileen.. (not sure how it's spelled) - Dexys Midnight Runners

the evil video that started the coveralls fad in the 80s...
      • Did you know they came in at the #1 spot for 1-hit wonders of the 80's? Apparently they had an ok career around the world, just not in the US.
FYI- if this is the first song you hear in the morning it will be stuck in your head for three days.

        • Irreplaceable by Beyonce?

          next song:

          People filled with rage
We all need a little tenderness
How can love survive in such a graceless age

Heart of the matter by Don Henley.

"Search for beauty, find your shore
Try to save them all, bleed no more
            You have such ocean's within
            In the end
            I will always love you"

    There are stars
    In the southern sky
    Southward as you go
    There is moonlight
    And moss in the trees
    • That's Southern Cross, right?

Edit: Nevermind, I looked it up. I had a good one too

Now I have loved you like a baby
      Like some lonesome child
And I have loved you in a tame way
And I have loved you wild
  • I give up, plus it's been over a week. New lyrics.
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please don't break it

I heard that song earlier today on one of the digital channels.... stuck in my brain, and when I read it here, I was " that sounds familiar...."
  • Nothing yet?
    Here's the next verse

"I'll wait, till your love comes down
I'm coming straight for your heart
No way, you can stop me now
    As fine as you are"
  • Come on guys! I thought this would be easy. *scratches head*

Last clue: The title is in the second verse posted. It's the chorus.
    • It's by Genesis... I know that much...

Still can't think of the song.
      • Sorry. Wrong music genre.
        Think rock guitar(ist).
        It's still a band though. *wink,wink, nudge,nudge*
        • Ah. I just listened to it. There's a reason I mistook it for Genesis, considering that song sounds a bit like their general style

And I wouldn't necessarily call it a different music genre, but rather a different rock genre
          • Good point. *nods*
I guess I just consider Genesis more pop than rock. *shrugs*

Like bodies in an open grave
Underneath the broken old neon sign

    • Man! I recognize those words, but I'm clueless from there.
I'm gonna kick myself in the butt when someone gets it.

Which isn't an easy thing to do, you know. Kicking yourself in the butt.
