Do you have a specific page set up for a novel? I set mine up but then when ive looked around at submissions it alwasy differs so is there any point? What is your page set up?
-
For a novel just on my computer, I have it set at default. If I'm submitting it, I look for the specifics that the place is requesting, and change to match that.
http://www.sfwa.org/writing/howto.htm is a good site with a lot of info on the subject.
http://www.eclectics.com/rebecca/setup.html and http://www.eclectics.com/articles/generic_setup_guide.html are great for showing how to set up.... (I've learned a lot from this site) -
Thankyou very much Barbara, they have been a great help.

Yes, it's definitely worth it.
Why?
Because if StoryWrite hickups and everything is lost, you don't have that writing anymore. : ) -
-
Always, always, always.... back up the work someplace before posting to any site on the internet. I used to lose a lot through email when it wouldn't go through, or a site glitched. Now, it's second nature, even with the auto-save that SW has... if I write straight to the site, I'll highlight all, and copy every so often so that I have it on the clipboard for 'just in case'.

Unfortunately the copy/paste doesn't work if your computer crashes or you have a power outage or it just shuts down for some reason.

SW has auto-save???
I did notice that if you accidentally click a link and it goes to a new page then you can click back and what you wrote will all be there still (unlike some sites). Is that what you're talking about? Or is it only when you're creating a new story or something?

The autosave isn't new, but it's not old, either... been on the site for a few months or more. I believe the things go into the draft area if something 'bad' happens. Although, it would only 'save' up to the last autosave... so anything typed after that would be lost. It's always good to use your word/writing program on the computer first, anyway, and have the save set to a couple minutes. (I had my save set at 15 minutes once... and the computer crashed... lost *so much stuff
*, so now it's at an automatic 2 mintues
... and, I use the email function in word to send the stuff to another smail address before I'm done for the day.)
