I am writing a memoir and am getting mixed reactions to the several working titles..does anyone know how to pick a good title for a story that is both humorous yet terrifying? Like Augusten Burroughs "Running With Scissors"?
  • I think it would have to depend on the content of the story, really, and that makes sense once read.

I have one, but I'm using it for a new story, so I can't give it out

(Just a reminder... no promoting of the story, or asking for reads on the forum area )

I like it!! How about dropped off into traffic or something like that? The only reason I say this is because I wasn't the one playing, others were playing with me...I like it but I want the responsibility where it belongs, ya know? Please reply...Thanks, Susan

Okay, how about Pushed Into Traffic? without knowing exactly what you're writing about it's hard to generalize and come up with a good title.
  • "Look Ma, No Hands"

    "I Double-dog Dare You"
    • I like that one.

That reminds me of a story about a little boy on his bicycle:

Going down a hill he shouts "Look Ma, No Hands"

Ten minutes later he walks up the hill pushing his bike and yells "Look Ma, No Teeth."

If you gave us a bit of a hint as to the story we might be able to help with the title. I thought you had a good title already.
