I like to write some(like, 10,000 words) and then edit it and then continue for another 10,000 words, edit, etc. Is this a bad thing? I heard if you edit as you go you won't ever finish/will take forever because you're too busy editing and revising. The thing is I don't plan on changing much, just polishing it off and checking spelling, grammar, etc. Anyways, is this a bad thing to do?

i think that the only way to do it.
i couldnt imagine getting to the end and going, "right, now i need to grammer check 100k words of text."
that would bore me to death. -
I agree with Oddities. I think it kind of breaks up the writing/editing process nicely. I woulndn't want to write a book of say 300 pages and end up having to go through it checking for grammar and spelling. Editing is a tedious process. >.<
I don't think it'll take you forever because you would end up editing and revising anyway. Plus by the time you finish it, you might lose a certain amount of interest and have no desire to go back through all of it right away. -
If it works for you, then it's not bad. If it doesn't work for you, then it's bad.
I usually edit before I'm done for the night... regardless if I've written a page, paragraph, or a whole story. I reread the next day before starting up again(just reread what I did the night before). At times I've scrapped it completely when it didn't sound as good as it did before.
