Hi everyone. I just found this site. I have a story idea that has been bouncing around in my skull for over two years and I finally am making time to try and flesh it out. (Sadly, it's plot-driven; I generally prefer to write character-driven stories.)
My questions for you folks who use this site are as follows: Do I put my story out, say, a chapter at a time? Can I stick a synopsis/outline out there and get feedback? I've been searching around the site for a bit and I did not come across such information. Please to help the poor little noob!
I know I'll be more motivated to work on the story if there is a place to put it periodically. I'm glad to see this site. Thanks in advance for any help.
The story is fantasy/fiction, btw, if it matters.

You can post a synopsis for it, a chapter, whatever you like.

Just click on the 'Add story' link and post away!
The feedback may take a while, though. Reading and commenting on other writer's stories is a good way to get others to read yours... since a lot will return the favor. On your author page, there is a greeting that is loaded with a lot of wonderful information about the site. Take a look, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask a greeter, a moderator, or just post to the forums.

Welcome!
While you've got your free trial of Gold Membership, it's easy to add your story in chapters and link them together in a list. That way, when someone finishes a chapter, there will be a link at the bottom of it for "Next in List" or your next chapter.
With longer stories I usually post chapters, and that way it stays more organized...especially if I want to take one down and edit it. When you post a new piece (story, chapter, synopsis) all of your friends are notified by the system automatically. So, make friends and feedback will come easily. I look forward to reading.
Have fun!
