Would you get more readers through Lulu than if you got accepted from a publisher?
And is vanity press and self publishing the same? -

As for the first question... it's unknown. There are many published books that quickly make their way to the 99 cent bin, while others on lulu.com sell like crazy. Or, some published that sell like crazy, and the lulu.com author who would be lucky to be able to *give* their book away to get others to read it. It all depends on the content, the marketing, the content, the cover(yeah, us shallow people buy a book depending on the cover), the content.... I mention the content a few times, since that's what makes or breaks you. The cover could be spellbinding, the exerpt on the back amazing, and the marketing everywhere... but if your story can't hold interest, then it's pure rot.
