Addline: The Lost Fairy

twundersElith sat crying under a warm lamppost on a cold and chilly night in the city Magnous. There were few out that evening, and no attention came to the lost little girl who was all by her self. Her wings hurt from flying too fast, and now she didn't know where she was, or how to get back home. Why did she run away. She was only upset at the scolding she received earlier in the day. Her mother had found out that Elith had skipped magic school, and when Elith said she'd fallen asleep, her Mother had hit her for the first time. Elith had lied ... and her mother new it, she knew that Elith had been down at the swamp with a boy.

Now Elith felt bad for running away, she meant to apologize to her mother, but was too stunned to realize she had stormed from the house, and now sat crying far away from her home.
Andrew-T-H"Oh, little girl. Little girl!" Screeched a voice rather far away. Elith now startled turned towards the voice. There, just beyond the light, stood the Shimreek, a magical witch of Undertown.

"Your tears are like diamonds, Elith." Just as the witch croaked her words Elith's tears fell shattering into small glass fragments.

Reel Treble"What do you want from me?" Elith asked, her voice shaky. As she stood, her broken tears made tinkling noises at her feet. The Shimreek grinned, her teeth showing even at the distance she was from Elith.

"Treasure," she hissed, reaching out with her gnarled hand. Elith's wings fluttered uncertainly.

"I have none; leave me alone!" Elith rose in the air, wings beating, and the one tear that had remained resting on her cheek fell from her face. In an instant, the Shimreek was directly beneath her, and she caught the solidified tear.

"That is where you're wrong, little girl," she rasped. "Your tears are like diamonds and your heart is made of gold. That is the kind of treasure I seek."

Elith didn't hear the Shimreek's foreboding words as she sped away towards the swamp, the one place she could think clearly about what she could say to her mother and the strange things that had just occurred.
libithinaShimreek was so perceptive and had used her magic to seek out Elith. She did indeed have tears of diamonds and a heart of gold and Shimreek had none of those things and thought that she could get them by taking from another. Elith the little lost fairy all alone and vulnerable was her chosen 'target' to try and steal these treasures from Elith. But it is as so many things. Elith did n ot know she possessed so many qualities as they just shone out from her, she was kind and thoughtful and considerate and had so much compassion. Shimreek did not possess any of these things, and could not relate to them only to see the products 'diamonds' and 'gold'. Poor Elith where could she hide, she ran and ran until she saw a fiery glow coming from beyond the trees, afraid but curious she hid and watched carefully trying to avoid the creeping swamp that was threatening to envelop ........
Andrew-T-HThe fire grew among the trees until it reached the top of their bare branches. The creeping swamp, though slowly moving, managed to gather around Elith's feet until the liquid reached her waist wetting her wings. A light burst in the distance threatening to blind her as a faint cackle broke upon the midnight air.

Elith's heart raced and her legs quivered, her arms beat and her eyes jumped about. The swamp no longer lay upon the ground but had grown up around her torso nearly covering the ends of her violet hair. The trees trembled as their trunks became scorched black. Their branches seemed to reach out to her.
libithinaBlackened as they were, they tried to weave a wall of protection around the little lost fairy. So much so, that they had created a barrel like raft, which contained her safe inside. They began to float across the swamp...
As the barrel shaped raft drifted across, the thick, blackened tar like substance, the immediate surrounding area dispersed, the raft was being given a safe passage, through this quagmire. This angered and galled Shimreek the magical witch from the undertown. She was watching through her obsidian eye, which not only gave her a myriad of images to view at once, in her immediate surrounding but also from afar. She wrung her bony fingers, twisting them almost in knots, with her knuckles protruding through her luminous green paper like flesh. No mean feat with her purple curled stained fingernails, her eyes bulged and burned more fiery than ever, and a frothy substance bubbled and dribbled from her skinny lips. She was enraged....
Shimreek carelessly hunted around for some potion or spell that she could use to contermand what ws occuring. Large belljars sat on shelves, containing all sorts of weird blob shaped objects in ochre stained dye, in her overzealouness she smashed some of them onto the floor, the stench was putrid, even for Shimreek, some of the blobs had movement and writhed away into dark corners, at the back hidden behind these tall jars was a tiny phial, interchangeably glowing fluorescent blue and green, Shimreek grinned and her pointed nose immediately fell touching her chin, what an image, she gripped the tin y phial so tight it almost screamed out in pain 'this will do very nicely' she cackled in her strange mocking laugh hoarsely coughing she almost choked and had to belt herself on the back......
