THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME:

It's getting harder and harder to write lately ...
Maybe I'm growing out of it, but I have no desire to ...
I'll open old stories to try to get inspired, and read them for about an hour or so
But then I'll close them down and I can't write a damn thing.

The problem is that there are so many more things in my mind lately,
The kind of stuff that adults have to deal with that I didn't have to deal with when I was a kid.
It takes some of the magic, and most of the focus, away.

Before, stories were all I could think about, day and night. I'd daydream about new plot lines, have dreams about my favorite characters and shows ... (I write fanfiction, btw) and that made it so easy to write.

But now ... I'm thinking about what I need to get accomplished before I go back to college ... I'm thinking about my cellphone bills and I'm working and I'm worrying about my career ...

I'm worried the magic has gone and all that is left is the glitter all over the floor. And somebody is telling me to clean it all up.

    It's funny, isn't it, how the desire to write never fades, but the muse...the muse has a mind of its own. Rest assured that given time, your muse will return, but not if it is forced. When you force your writing, nothing good can come from it. Writing, like music, must flow - and must come from the heart.

    I suggest to you keeping a journal for now, while your creative writing is at a stand-still. Meanwhile, I also suggest seeking out the movie Finding Forrester - there's great inspiration there to be had.
