St.PandemoniumShow stories

I'm an 18 year old boy from Brooklyn. My favourite mythical creature is the phoenix ummmm I'm a poet and I'm a vegetarian, so those came together for my username. Yay! Well, it was originally JonathanPoetarian but I got sick of that, and I prefer to be permanently known as St.Pandemonium. Just call me Panda.

The crazier I am... the saner I am if that makes sense.

For me, crazy is a loose term. Crazy is when you stare at a pencil and laugh when someone asks you what you are doing that is so interesting about the eraser. Crazy is when you have an hour-long sob fest, and then start singing and dancing when your favorite song comes on. Crazy is when you do or say a completely random thing, like "Do you ever wonder where the eraser bits go?" or having a thumbwar with yourself. If you're crazy, copy this onto your profile.
But, besides that:

I consider myself a writer: someone who spends their life putting time, love and effort onto a blank page. Right now, I'm working on a three-part saga, with the second part being the story I post here. I'm not really much of an artist, though I used to be, but I suppose once I get my own scanner and a good stock of supplies I can post something...if I don't burn it first. xD

But to start light conversation...I'm going to Onondaga Community College in January for English and Theatre--then I'm transferring after a year to a four-year college. I'm considering a triple major--English, Music and Theatre--but I'm not sure at the moment!

Music: I like to listen to everything from New Wave to Reggae to Indie rock, Jazz, Avant-Garde, Romantic, Classical and Orchestral, Pop, Dance, Soft rock, Soundtracks, Big Band & Swing and 80s pop. Currently I'm taking piano lessons. I have played the bass, clarinet and violin. I sing (alto, tenor, countertenor) and I have performed classical pieces, masses, and Negro spirituals with the Boys Choir of Harlem.

Languages: I've dabbled in Latin and Zulu, but now I'm focusing on French and Modern Greek.

Acting: I crave the stage. In my opinion, the stage is far more difficult than the screen because the stage is honest and raw--no director can cut out your line if it's not done well and try to pass it off as a fresh scene. On the stage, you are where you are. You must be fully aware at all times. I began acting when I was really two and three years old. I would always love to be in tiny school productions for the holidays. When I was six I started attending acting school. I was involved with Musical Theatre and African Dance for six years following, performing in the annual plays every June. Since then I have only been in minor school productions, with the last one being in ninth grade where we did Christmas specials for the Grinch, and also did scenes from Romeo & Juliet (with the fabulous Joe Plummer from the Shakesperean Society to teach us swordfighting), Malcolm X and Chicago.

Favourite Books: I Capture the Castle, The Salt Eaters, Emma, Wuthering Heights, Treasure Island, Harry Potter series, Redwall series (especially Pearls of Lutra and Salamandastron), HDM, Metaphysics, The Red Book (Lord of the Rings), The Hobbit, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Tender Is the Night, Beloved, Minding Animals, Earth's Last Great Places, Before the Mayflower, I Dream a World, The Will of the Empress...too many more to name.

Favourite Movies: Mrs. Doubtfire, Keeping Mum, Forrest Gump, The Shawshank Redemption, Planet Earth, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, You've Got Mail, The Color of Courage, Sister Act I & II, Miss Congeniality, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars...again, too many to name. =P

Ickles: Racists, bigots and ignorant people. Plain and simple. And math. I hate math.

My Ethics: I have an open mind but I still maintain my reservations. In the tradition of the Taoist precepts I try to maintain balance in my life...I am a firm believer in the power of the female spirit, which is why all of my writings feature females as the protagonists. Contrary to popular belief women are, indeed, people...the ones who say that they're complaining and that they've got the 19th Amendment do not understand that women's rights is much more of a global issue, rather than strictly American. However, I do understand the concepts of Equalism and Egalitarianism. EVERYONE should be given fair and equal treatment and protection under the law of the government they work for!

Rest In Peace, Minnie Charles. A star shone on the hour of our meeting. Thank you for the peaceful years together.

~ ♥ PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS ♥ ~

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
