Hey,
Finally got around to doing this lol. Well my name is Raeyle, well not my real name. My pen name for this site is Raeyle. It's much easier to call me by that name than my real name because that just brings up alot of questions and mis-callings because of people's belief about what my name is an isn't. Other than that I love my name!
Have been writing since primary school in some form or fashion. I have always enjoyed reading and I agree that you can not succeed in writing unless you read.
The island of Barbados is where I was born and bred. Beautiful place. Come visit and boost the tourism
I saw this on a storywrite friend's profile and I think it sums up me as well. Tomereader said "I am a practicing Christian (practicing because I have not got it right yet)". Think I quite agree and in the same spot as he is. For me, Jesus is perfection, God is perfection. I am human, I will continue to strive to be the best me that God wants and with His help I'll achieve that. But I will make mistakes and He knows that and He expects me to come to Him ask for forgiveness and continue plowing on, asking for His help. It's hard to do that sometimes hence the practicing....but hey, I'll keep trying.
For most comments I will award 5 stars. The reason? I think if you take time out of your busy schedule to critique me or encourage me or just to express how my writing made you feel or think or if it was entertaining....I think you deserve 5 stars just for on that basis alone
I don't have one favourite book or writer. Reading for me is like my enjoyment of music...it's very eclectic. But I do have some preferred genres.
Romance- I like most ppl dream of that kind of fantasy love. But I also read for the plot, to see how far you can lead your reader to believe in coincidence before your ploy starts to fail. Especially love to read those that have Barbados as a setting and pick it apart to see if they did it justice.
Any sub-genre of Romance- So that means if its a cross genre hybrid like fantasy romance....I might like it.
I like fantasy, sci-fi, adventure, crime, etc etc. Or rather I have found books in all those genres that I like but that doesn't mean I like the genre as a whole.
I love reading about the regency period, about scotland and the highlands, about kings and queens, monarchy and nobility. I like reading/oral stories from Africa, those traditional stories. I love Native American (hope i'm being politically correct) oral heritage as well.
Concerning writing, poetry and stories do it for me. But I'm too lazy so poetry works out better for me. Through this site, however, I have been developing my story writing skills.
So if there is anything else you can ask me. And if you see this profile please answer this question and leave a comment.
When writing, do you prefer to use an informal voice or formal voice?
