"What about me"?
One of my favourite sayings when I was a kid, and to some extent, today as well. Don't most of us have this vanity? It's not a particularly bad trait to have, just one that seems to be, that's all.
"Write what you know about"! Probably the best advice I've heard. Besides, I probably couldn't write anything fictitous if my life depended on it. The stories I write are mostly true accounts with some embellishment in the areas where my mind has grown foggy. Those areas, however, do not detract from the subject matter.
Bear with me,I'm a work in progress.

ladynigritude on July 29, 2007Ooh, I agree that "write what you know" is one of the best piece of advice ever...Lately, as a writer I've come to live by it.
I'm also quite partial to my mother's "everything in moderation" for life in general.
