I am a retired electronics engineer and software developer, recently trying my hand at science fiction story writing, principally for the amusement of my grandchildren.
Over the years, my life has taken me through the "big depression", the U.S. Navy during World War II Pacific operations, civilian assignments in the Far East, South America, and Europe so I have a lot of source material for stories. I have no formal training in creative writing and what writing I have done was primarily of a technical nature. However, my grandkids seem to think I am a pretty good story teller.
I will appreciate honest commentary on what I write and will try to reciprocate.

slashinguk : Good writing and helpful comments on November 15, 2007Just wanted to stop by to say what a good job you've done with the Jimmy Beckmann stories and I appreciate the comments you've made in return to me and on my stories.
Please keep up the good work. -
Playjazz66 on October 23, 2007It's enjoyable to find an author who knows his audience. Writing for a young market, yet not writing "down" to them is an art. Lou certainly has found a stone and worked on polishing it.

gerifitzsimmons : Lou Berg on October 21, 2007Lou, I do believe you are one of the most energetic newcomers to the writing field; I’ve been fortunate enough to become acquainted with.
I look forward to watching you develop the obvious talent you possess.

sarahhitch : Love the Jimmy story on October 10, 2007First of all, welcome aboard, I know if you're anything like me, you'll soon be hooked to this site.
I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy the story with Jimmy in it, but the way you wrote this, changed my mind. I couldn't stop reading this, and I know you state it's aimed at 11-15 year olds, but I was hooked.
Sarah.
