Hello there!
My name's Justin and I love to write! The only problem is that when I start a story... I can never finish it!
The longest story I've ever written (but never completed) is called Ron Sanders and the Hover Car Institute of Magic. Unfortunately, I find it WAY TOO SIMILAR to Harry Potter so I've stopped writing it.
I love to write about fantasy and darkness and the occasional horror and gore but for some reason, i can only write long (attempted) novels and never short stories.
My Rules of Writing:
Rule 1 - Always make your beginning sentence of a chapter/story exciting or intriguing. Also, it's a good thing to leave the reader hanging at times. This a good at the end of a chapter/story. These are commonoly known as Cliffhangers. It's great when something bad is happening to the main character and the cliffhanger occurs at the end of the chapter and then the next part is another place with another character. This is done well in the series 'The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel: The Alchemist, The Magician and the Sorcoress.'
Rule 2 - Never write numbers. E.g. Jenny bought 2 puppies. Always
write the numbers in words. E.g. Jenny bought two puppies.
Rule 3 - Always reread the sentence you have just written. It saves you having to read the story top to bottom when editing.
Rule 4 - Never repeat the same word twice in the same sentence.
Rule 5 - Plan your chapter/story plot prior to writing it. It helps you know where to end the chapter so it doesn't drag on.
At the moment, my focus is on a story called 'Grace Underwood and the Lost Sceptre of Reliana'.
I have already made the chapter names if you are interested:
Chapter One - Dark Clouds
Chapter Two - White Fur
Chapter Three - Fight at the Farm
Chapter Four - Bird's Eye View
Chapter Five - Tracking the Link
Chapter Six - The Inventress
Chapter Seven - Roman Werewolves
Chapter Eight - Searching the Colosseum
Chapter Nine - The Plan
Chapter Ten - Flicker
Chapter Eleven - Total Darkness
Chapter Twelve - Shadow
Chapter Thirteen - Found Out
Chapter Fourteen - Missing
Chapter Fifteen - Ultimatum
Chapter Sixteen - The Domicile of Reliana
Chapter Seventeen - In Plain Sight
Chapter Eighteen - No Mercy
Chapter Nineteen - Vengeance
Chapter Twenty - Lasting Memory
If I haven't made clear, it is obvious that something dramatic will happen in the third last chapter. Any guesses???
I also have a possible title for Book 2 as well but it may change:
Grace Underwood and the Secrect of the Ancient King
Chapter One - Mourning
Chapter Two - Wreckage
So far, I have only thought of two chapters.
Well, you better keep scrolling so you can have a look at my stories so thanks for reading this little intro!!!
