I always had a hard time writing about myself, so I won’t. Instead, I’ll just write about my writing.
I’m not very productive, and I write very slowly. I write because I wish there were more books within my specific genre, because that’s what I’d like to read, and maybe there’s somebody out there who feels the same way. It’s as simple as that.
I find it a little difficult to define my genre, I think all writers do, but I think what I aim for is writing stories that are more than they seem.
Some of my stories may sound simple and down to earth, but, when looked upon closely, appear to be symbols or metaphors for something more complex.
Some might appear intelligent, but turn out to be worthless. In fact, that happens a lot. No, seriously, I wouldn’t write such a story intentionally.

When We were People
My major contribution to SW so far would be five stories, that all have separate messages and are narrated quite differently, but still belong together, as they share characters. They also share themes of identity and mistakes. I don't want to spoil too much, but read them and you'll understand. I have decided to use the working title "When We were People" for this project. If you want to read them I suggest you do it in the order I wrote them:
The Good Morning - http://storywrite.com/story/195026
Things Jack Will Never Know - http://storywrite.com/story/209382
The Sour Aftertaste of Coffee with Jay - http://storywrite.com/story/210078
True Deceiver - http://storywrite.com/story/211962
Romancing the Stoned - http://storywrite.com/story/218118
Please do read them. I have had very few comments so far other than on “The Good Morning”.
See you, goodbye, so forth and so on
Polite ways of saying “please leave me alone”
A smile and a nod, though modest and plain
Is the best way of saying I’ll see you again

Hi GodBlessCatastrophe,
Welcome to the StoryWrite website!
My username is Elisabeth but most people just call me Lis. Our site is a community of people who all share a common desire to write and hopefully become a published author sometime in the future. It is also a place to sharpen your writing skills and display your creativity while being in a fun environment!
You will notice a gold medal by your name.
This is a free trial membership. This shows you what options you have if you were a paid member of Storywrite.com. After approximately three days, the gold membership expires, so take the opportunity to see all that our site offers to you.
We have a new members group on the site. This group was set-up to show you how to post your work onto the site and to give you an understanding of how the reading/reviewing of your work actually happens. If you have not already done so, I would suggest you take a peek into this group and see how this process works:
New Members Group
Along with a new members group, we have a New Members Contest that is held every month. Come and check it out. The contest is open to any new member:
New Members Contest
It is recommended that all new members to the site give serious consideration to joining a writing group as a method of assisting them in becoming an active member of the site. Most Storywrite members belong to groups to help them improve their writing skills, to socialize, talk about common interests or otherwise interact with other people of like mind. It is also a great place to make new friends and get helpful critiques.
Group List
Included below are a few quick tips that have proven to be very helpful to new members in doing some of the basic functions necessary to get yourself set-up and running on the site.
