DearheartShow stories

Dearheart has been writing songs and poetry since she was four, but discovered she also loved to write stories at age 13. She is homeschooled by her parents and is the oldest of three younger siblings. She is also a pastor's kid and wishes, above all else, to glorify God with the gifts and abilities He has blessed her with. She is always eager to learn and grow as a writer and would greatly appreciate all the constructive criticisms and advice she can get!

She chose her penname, "Dearheart", because that is what the Great Aslan often calls Lucy in the Chronicles of Narnia (by C. S. Lewis). The relationship between Lucy and her Lord Lion is in every way a parallel to Dearheart's relationship with her Lord Jesus. She is His Lucy, His "Dearheart"...and Jesus is, and always will be, her Aslan.

She is also a firm believer in the art of storytelling. To her, writing and storytelling are two different things that can be mixed together to create something great. "Writing means composing something with words. Storytelling means taking someone on a journey. Anyone can write something good if they put their mind to it," she says, "but not everyone can tell a good, proper, satisfying story. As for me, I hope to use and perfect the few writing skills I have to glorify God and become the best storyteller I can be."

She LOVES Narnia and Lord of the Rings, and likes to enjoy good music and children's literature (especially fantasy), eat chocolate, play piano, write and compose songs, work with younger children and do anything creative you can think of! Her other interests include Doctor Who, Fullmetal Alchemist, swimming, debating, riding on the craziest roller-coasters and reading good fan fiction.

Other Random Facts:

- She has Pixar's "Finding Nemo" movie memorized. Name any scene and she can quote it word perfect. (Yeah, it's scary...)

- She has a black lab named Fetch...who doesn't fetch.

- She used to hate anime with a passion. And then one day Fullmetal Alchemist converted her.

- She is pro-True Love and anti-Romance. (If that makes any sense.)

- She hates wasps. She really, really hates them.
