About me.....
My pen name is Damon, I like to work on short stories.
I'm back on again, after spending the past years with my girlfriend happily hiding away from the surface or the sun. Recently I have sworn into the Navy and am well on my way to be an EM (Electrician's Mate). My life has been a recipe for disaster, Mama never loved me much and Daddy was always busy. I was born in Utah, a state that has always been prettier than ever, but full of tons of whackjobs I know all to well. The touching and oh so said story of my life, whatever in Helheim that means.
Aside from that my major accomplishments are repairing the body of a humvee and painting it green, receiving a first place reward at my elementary school for the best "Who's your Hero" story and for my essay on safety, owning a rat named Sally in first grade, catching the biggest fish every time we go fishing, scaring the crap out of my girlfriend again and again, having insomnia for a very large chunk of my life, being the first man on Pluto in my mind, having played DnD since I was five, being the first to come up with an idea before it became a movie and being mad because it was my idea, having heartburn since I was seventeen, and roleplaying with my brothers since I was four when I thought the game of 'pretend' was best described as 'playing with our bodies' or 'pwos' for short, and being the first to overly use ';' to the point of ';' abuse.
My writings.....
My writings vary from time to time due to my mood, but I like to create a variety. You will most likely notice I am often grammatically incorrect or I spell things wrong, when frankly I don't care, I'm a writer not an editor.
My interests.....
I love music, it soothes the soul. I'm offended that people think that listening to certain genres puts you in a category when honestly I don't care. I like to listen to everything, even if that makes you think I listen to nearly nothing.
I love movies, they are beauty to the eyes and can reinvent what we see on pages. If you ask my girlfriend how much I love movies, she will say I never stop talking about them. I quote them, I make parodies of them, I become hypnotized by them, they rock.
I love books, worlds imagined are within their pages. Books are fantastic. They cause revolutions, controversies, and debates. A good novel can take you away from the world and place you in another.
I love history, politics, psychology, law, and theology; these topics of the world are what relate to humanity, they cannot be more significant to us than they already are because they make more of our reality than anything else.
My religion.....
I am Asatru and thus I am an Asatruar. I don't believe in God, I don't believe in the end, I believe in many gods, and I believe that we should all follow the gods our ancestors followed. The name Asatru can be divided into two words: Aesir, and Troth. Aesir means gods and troth means true, and that is what Asatru is, being true to the gods.
To you what is Norse myth is to me an interpretive lore that isn't literal, but rather metaphorical. I am a son of Odin, and he is my All Father.
My Duty.....
My duty is now to this country under the oath I swore to it, it's constitution, and it's people.
The Eleven General Orders of Sentry
1) To take charge of this post and all government property in view.
2) To walk my post in military manner, keeping always on the alert and observing everything that takes place within sight or hearing.
3) To report all violations of orders I am instructed to enforce.
5) To quite my post only when properly relieved.
6) To receive, obey, and pass on to the sentry who relieves me all orders from the Commanding Officer, Command Duty Officer, Officer of the Deck, and Officers and Petty Officers of the Watch only.
7) To talk to no one except in the line of duty.
8) To give the alarm in case of fire or disorder.
9) To call the Officer of the Deck in any case not covered by instructions.
10) To salute all officers and all colors and standards not cased.
11) To be especially watchful at night, and during the time for challenging, to challenge all persons on or near my post, and to allow no one to pass without proper authority.
The Sailor's Creed
I am a United States Sailor.
I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and I will obey the orders of those appointed over me.
I represent the fighting spirit of the Navy and those who have gone before me to defend freedom and democracy around the world.
