Hi,
I'm Amelia. I live in Ireland, in County Clare, but I was born and lived for twelve years in Sheffield, England. Writing is a major part of my life, hopefully one day when I have many more experiences I'll have a book published. At least that's my goal, for now I just write short stories and poetry. Oh, and I'm working on a book. It's currently at about 45000 words, which is a big thing for me as I only managed to finish my first proper short story last summer, it's in the list of stories below.

And now here are some quotes, which I rather like;

Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going too fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.
Eddie Cantor

Happiness is always a by-product. It is probably a matter of temperament, and for anything I know it may be glandular. But it is not something that can be demanded from life, and if you are not happy you had better stop worrying about it and see what treasures you can pluck from your own brand of unhappiness.
Robertson Davies

Do not judge men by mere appearances; for the light laughter that bubbles on the lip often mantles over the depths of sadness, and the serious look may be the sober veil that covers a divine peace and joy.
Edward Chapin

Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better.
